Publisher's summary

There's murder and mayhem in Mayfair today....

When Violet calls Cassie over to investigate a murder in Mayfair, Cassie figures it's going to be a pretty easy solve, especially when they immediately hone in on a main suspect. But things get a lot more complicated when it turns out the suspect has an airtight alibi.

Meanwhile, things at home are going to get more hectic for Cassie when Jake has a brand new surprise to show her. And why do the nightmares that started when Cassie was officially registered as a doctor refuse to go away?

Between everything going on at home and inside her head, will Cassie be able to help Violet solve the case, or is it all going to be too much for her? The Cassie Coburn mysteries are a cozy mystery series featuring a Sherlock-holmes style sleuth. If you want a light, fun, modern mystery featuring a San Francisco girl totally out of her element in London, and a crazy French woman who happens to be very good at noticing things, then this is the series for you.

Magic

I tried this series in desperation as I generally prefer mysteries and magic on the cozy side. I’ve loved this series, listening to one after another. I agree that Violet is so amazing as to be magical.

Binged

I stumbled upon this series and listened to them all too date. These stories remind me of Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman. I love her tales of hilarious intrigue with the CIA.

Murder in Mayfair

True to form, Violet & Cassie have a murder to solve. This one was thought to be an “open & shut case”. I mean really, how often does that happen with Violet doing the sleuthing? Jake discovers a boxful of puppies & their mom outside the door to the hospital morgue. Naturally, Cassie takes them in to foster & Jake moves in to help with their care. When confronting the murderer, Violet is stabbed once again & Cassie moves in to save her life. This storyline is a bit too familiar from an earlier case but hopefully Ms. Silver will come up with a different method in future books. I did enjoy the book though.

I Cannot Get Enough

Cassie and Violet are back at it, along with the other lovable characters. I loved this book, even though I had figured out who and how; though not exactly why. Violet reminds me so much of a modern female Hercule Poirot (even though she isn't Belgian). I stumbled on this series and binged books 1-7. I do hope there are more to come.
