Publisher's summary

Being the Guardian isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. My new life is weird, and hard. Think magic comes easy to those who wield it? Think again! I’m more likely to blow something up than shield it.

As dark Fae make their way through the portal and my best friend’s children are kidnapped, it’s time for me to learn how to cast a location spell. Problem is, before I can start, I’m pulled through the portal and left stranded in the Fae realm. I have no choice but to pull up my granny panties and figure this out. Everyone I love needs me.

Now I'm desperate for help. Lost in the Fae realm, I’m forced to seek it in a place where my enemies rule with an iron fist. My new trainer is powerful, patient, and very unexpected. The exact opposite of Sebastian. And even if they’re both extremely good looking, I don’t have time for an alpha male showdown over the rights to my affections. An evil entity is stalking supernaturals in Cottlehill Wilds, and I need to get back through the portal to help Violet find her kids.

Turns out, learning my magic is the least of my problems.

Another good one for the team

On the other side of 40 is kicking azz and taking names, that is the names all all the enemies who want to stop a woman from peace and quiet for her next hot flash. Sebastian is still waiting in the wings and it looks like he doesn’t what the other side a 45 year old looks like either. Visiting the land of the Fae is funny when food isn’t so good.

Great second book

I am so glad I didn’t let the narration pauses in the first book deter me from the second book! The narration in this book was excellent and the story continues to unfold. I love these characters!

Dare I say, better than the first?

I am thinking I liked this one over the first (still amazing). Again, fantastic writing and narration. I am really liking how things unfold. I totally devoured this in 1 go, deciding being tired the next day was better than pausing. On to the next book!

BK 2 & I am loving this series

I get laugh. I get action. I get an possible romance. I get friendship. I get family. I get the paranormal. Fae. Dragon-shifter. Witches. Kidnapping. Backside of Forty. Phoebe. Violet. Aslyn.

These women are kicking butt and taking names. I love their friendship. I love the coming romance. I want more of the coming fight. I loved the trip the Iathia (I know this is spelled wrong)

Naomi Rose-Mock has my stamp of approval. She bring to life all the characters and give the various accents something extra.

This series will be on my repeat listen list. These are quick easy to listen to stories that give a good get-a-way.

Adorably dangerous

The deaths have started again and the back side of forty coven is trying to figure out what evil is up to no good. Fiona, the keeper of the gate, goes to answer a call and gets pulled through the portal into Fea world. This dual world adventure is so full of murder mystery, crazy battles, self acceptance and love and just good fun. I truly love the characters and the world they have made together. It’s fun to see people my age kicking butt and dealing with midlife stuff. It’s a fun read with tension and adventure and battles so it’s a little bit of everything. I can’t wait for the next installment to see what Fiona and her coven and sexy body guards do in the next book!

The narrator was fantastic! She did so well with all her accents. She was quite enjoyable to listen too

Nice sequel to a very unique story

This adventure was fun! I really enjoyed the new element involved. Was a bit surprised with the obvious romance novel bit but it was well done!

Again, not too bad

I realize this is a "midlife" book, but I don't need reminding of that fact every few paragraphs. Her moaning and groaning over tender joints and bad knees gets a bit tiresome. She's not aging gracefully. And heck, 45's young!

In this book, I had to slow down the narrator by 15% so I could understand her. I like the voices she does.

I guess the plot's been good enough to keep me interested. I've bought the third book :)
