Publisher's summary

Big-city sophistication meets carnal hunger in this devilish contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

Heir apparent to her father’s company, Lizzy Banks needs a man. The perfect man. But when the rich “fundbabies” she usually rubs shoulders with prove impossible to hire, she takes a chance on a raw beast of a man salvaged from the wreckage of a bar brawl.

James Rowan earns a modest income as a YouTube daredevil, but he can’t refuse Lizzy’s million dollar deal. As she polishes his rough edges, creating a sophisticated gentleman fit for the highest circles of society, not only does she bring out the perfect man - it’s like she’s making the man of her dreams. How can she resist?

Though Lizzy loves seeing James in his clothes - and out of them - he isn’t the kind of man you bring home to Daddy. Her father’s disapproval and the pressure of the campaign have her eyeing the straight and narrow, but Lizzy’s finding it awfully hard to resist the devil on her shoulder…

Worth the credit

This book had a pretty original storyline. Lizzy has been working her whole life to prove herself to her father but he has yet to notice her abilities. So when it falls to her to find a new model for the famous Banks Mensware Line she feels the pressure to produce greatness. But when all of the top models turn her down she stumbles upon inspiration in a dank, seedy bar. Now she just has to transform him into the "perfect man" without anyone finding out that she found him in the gutter.

A reverse Pretty Woman story

I loved this book. I think I read about 20% and decided that I needed to buy this book. It reminded me of Pretty Woman so if you like that concept I think you'll like this book. Lizzy is under a lot of pressure to perform because her father, the owner of a mens' fashion conglomerate, will need a successor and she believes she should be the one. She can't get any one to sign on as the face of their new line until she finds Jimmy, a youtube stunt man. Jimmy or James becomes her muse. Shades of Pygmalion arise and the question is whether their attraction and love can survive their significant class differences. Lots of emotion and i loved the characters. I wished Lizzy would have stood up more to her father and I have to admit, I wished I could have slapped her father some times. But the characters were so well done and while this is my first book from Katy Evans, it won't be my last. I did listen to the audiobook a bit too and both Grace Grant and Ryan West did a great job with the different characters, both male and female. Good pacing, easy to listen to and enjoyable overall.

Great narration, MEH! On the chemistry

The strongest asset this audio has is the narration and how spot on it is. If I would have had to read it IDK if I would have finished it. There was a disconnect, for me, between the main characters and I just couldn't engage with them as I would have liked. I found the heroine weak and lacking a back bone, and I can't deal with characters that need to be in constant pursuit of validation. A 3/5 stars.

It was okay

Liz and James is good together. The two were attracted to each other from the start but they didn't rush into it. They took the time to know each other and still manage to have a good work relationship.Liz's behavior at the Launch though, seriously that's the best way you could handle that situation? Almost ruined the whole book for me. I'm on the fence on this one so it's a 3.5⭐ for me. Some of Liz's ideas for making James into the perfect man didn't sit well with me either. My suggestion is read this one yourself to form your own opinion you might enjoy it a lot more than I did

Katy Evans does it again

storyline is wonderful as always ! The narrator's are perfect and spot-on . Reminds me more of her manwhore series less like the real series. but I do love how her characters are very true to nature and very relatable definitely a must-read.

Jimmy is amazing!

James is just delicious! This dirty mouthed bad boy had me from the first time we meet him. His fierce protectiveness over his brother had me swooning. I loved his bad boy ways.

Elizabeth is striving to be the son that he father never had. She wants him to see her for the business woman that she is. When she comes up with the idea to make James the face of her new line, who knew what the future would hold for these two!

Ms. Evans tells a great tale with characters that are easy to love. Great read!

The narration really enhanced the story. I loved hearing the emotion in their voices as they conveyed these characters. They really brought the story to life.

Review: Million Dollar Devil

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is a standalone rags-to-riches trope with the heroine finding the face of her new mens clothing line in a seedy bar one night. Well-written and well-paced, supremely hot with back and forth tension between these two that is palpable throughout the story. This story was fantastic. A refreshing twist on the millionaire trope with the rich one being the woman and the not-so-rich one being the male but never once did it emasculate him. A typically awesome Katy Evans book and a must-read, in my opinion. Enjoy!

The narrators were on point. They managed to showcase the characters nuances and emotions and listening/reading with whisper-sync was seamless with their skill and Katy's writing.

great listen

Katy Evans wrote this detailed story of the transformation of Jimmy, a street guy that was transformed to the leading face of Banks suits and clothing line. This story is fascinating and informative of what it takes to make this man.
Then the true value of either money or happiness.

A 5 star

Katy Evans is one of my favorite authors for a reason and this book is everything I love in her books. Elizabeth (Lizzy) wants her father to see her as a future CEO for Banks, Ltd. She finds herself facing Jimmy Rowan, the Daredevil, but perfect guy for the face of the new campaign. This story reminded me of Pygmalion in a reverse way. I absolutely loved it. The untamed, risk taker, YouTube sensation Jimmy will find himself more than a million dollar deal and Lizzy will see that not everything that she thought she wanted is what she needs. A 5 star read. The audiobook I must say is amazing, the narrators did an outstanding job and I totally recommend it as well.

Is it me??

The female narrator sounds like she has a retainer in!! It ruins the story which is also not great..
