Publisher's summary

Meghan Misunderstood is a pioneering book that sets the record straight on the most talked about, unfairly vilified and misrepresented woman in the world.

Meghan was 11 when she first advocated for women’s rights; a teenager when she worked in a soup kitchen feeding the homeless; a popular actress when she campaigned for clean water in Africa and passionately championed gender equality in a speech to a United Nations Women’s Conference. Even before she met Prince Harry, hers was an extraordinarily accomplished life. Meghan’s wedding to Harry was a joyful occasion, marking happiness at last for the Queen’s grandson who had captured our hearts 20 years earlier when he bravely walked behind his mother Diana’s coffin. Theirs was a story that the screenwriters of Hollywood – where Meghan had made her name – could scarcely have imagined.

The rom-com fantasy, however, soon turned into disturbing drama: any expectation of a life happily-ever-after was cruelly dashed by bullying tabloid newspapers and their allies, both on social media and within the walls of the Palace itself. Meghan was targeted for her gender, her race, her nationality and her profession. The abuse became so bad that 72 female MPs signed a letter of solidarity against the ‘often distasteful and misleading press’, calling out the ‘outdated colonial undertones’ of the stories. Now, Sean Smith, the UK’s leading celebrity biographer, pulls no punches as he reveals the remarkable and powerful story of this self-made, intelligent American woman with a strong social conscience who has made such an impact on our lives.

An Excellent Read!

This book is really good. It's obvious the author took the time to do extensive research on The Duchess of Sussex and actually spoke to individuals who were part of her life. The book gives excellent details of events that can only come from people who were there. Never at any point did I think I was reading gossip or hearsay. Looking forward to a follow-up addition!! Shout-out to the narrator Jessica Hayles. It was a pleasure listening to you. Much appreciated!

Compelling

The book was compelling, it laid out the events and intent of the British media, which includes the ROTA to diminish Duchess Meghan by way of character assassination.

Informational

No hateful agenda against Meghan. Sean wrote the information he found and that’s it, no hidden agenda. I appreciated him naming every single reporter that wrote hateful/biased stories against her exposing their bias and racism.

This book was well needed to be heard!

This book was well needed to be heard.
It’s just a shame that Meghan and her mother and Harry are treated so disrespectful! What the hell! How dare people be that way. Just goes to show you who has a hateful heart. So hypocritical when you see them in church!

I loved this book! Keep up the positive and loving family.

The frank honesty of the author.

It is refreshing to read an honest book about Meghan. The Royal Family has lost a brilliant gem and has insulted people of color with their indifference and BS. They have lost my respect. Beyond Queen Elizabeth, I don’t respect Charles, William, and their wives. They helped to damage Meghan's reputation and instead have shown a light of contempt and hypocrisy back at themselves. The Commonwealth Nations will eventually leave them behind when they fail to protect a woman of color, who was a refreshing asset to their family. The British gutter press is a disgraceful, racist bunch of clowns. I pity them all. No morality, all about greed. Simply disgusting.

The truth finally

The British press was the catalyst into Harry and Meghan leaving. Im happy that Harry decided not Meghan to leave that toxic environment!
