Christmas in the Islands…
Nate Andrews whisked the entire Talbot clan off for a holiday adventure in the U.S. Virgin Islands. As they relax on the beach of sunny St. John, Liz Talbot grapples with the secret her husband has kept since the day she met him—he’s a very wealthy man. Will all that money change everything?
Meanwhile, the wild donkeys on the island follow Daddy around like he’s their leader, and Mamma has made new friends. Beverly Baker and Frankie Summey are conducting a do-it-yourself investigation. They’re hot on the trail of Beverly’s husband, Melvin, and his mistress, the tantrum yoga instructor. When Mamma is caught masterminding an undercover operation, naturally, Liz and Nate step in.
As the family gathers around the Christmas tree, Beverly and Frankie stumble into the crosshairs of a dangerous criminal organization. Liz and Nate scramble to find a killer before three sweet Southern belles wind up in a tropical prison.

Intriguing
I enjoyed this particular book a great deal.
Choosing to believe that the adventure continues with a change in how they do their work.
I don’t care for the way the narrator pronounced Stella Maris, but other than that I think she did a great job.
I don’t usually like a narrator change.
I look forward to the next adventures of Nate and Liz.

very good, but the end?
Another great Liz and Nate adventure. Engaging and lots of fun. The ending seemed like maybe the series was wrapping up, but I hope not.
I was worried when I saw a new narrator's name, but she sounded like Loretta Rawlins and did a great job. (...except she mispronounces Stella Maris. why didn't anyone correct her?)

A Fitting Seque
Setting the Scene: The Talbot family is finally on their Christmas getaway, enjoying warm island breezes, amazing views, delectable food, hiking, and so much more. Who would have guessed that Mama would pull them into an investigation, one that began with a cheating husband and escalated to murder, kidnapping, and more? Could this be the final investigation for Liz and Nate?
What I Thought: From the beginning of this series, I have loved Liz, Nate, and menagerie of characters that populate Stella Maris. They brought entertainment, laughter, and warmth. Although the length and setting of this book prevented a full array of all those personalities, we get a taste of some in the immediate family, including Daddy's tendency to attract animals and Colleen's caretaker role. It is clear that this book is intended to either end the series or provide a seque to a whole new perspective for Liz and Nate. Either way, the book is a must-read for fans of the series. Long live, Liz and Nate!

Liz and Nate's Tropical Christmas
Susan Boyer's Lowcountry series never disappoints.
Liz and Nate take the whole Talbot family to St. John for Christmas. After Mama meets up with new friends on the beach, the Talbot/Andrews family is thrown into quite an eventful 48 hour escapade complete with new farm animals to make us laugh out loud.
It was fun exploring the sights of St. John at Christmas with my favorite detectives and their wonderful family!
Merry Christmas Y'all!
