Missing the fantastic humor!

The story was very good, however I’m so used to the humor in the Mudbug and Fortune series that I was hoping this book would have some. I’ve read all of Jana’s books over and over and love them!

Excellent Loved It!!

Another wonderful series by Jana DeLeon. The first book Backrush was so well written. So many twists and great characters. The second book in the series Adrift is excellent also the characters are relatable and a lot of fun women. I can’t wait for the third book to be released. Thank you Jana DeLeon you are awesome.

I little sappy for me…

I like this author’s other series but I think I’ll pass on this one after this book. A little too much romance snappiness for my taste. Can’t imagine any SEAL acting or saying some of this. The voice the performer used for Luke drove me crazy. I almost stopped listening. If you want a romance, I guess you’ll like this. Not for me.

Fantastic Suspense Story

I love this genre of book so much. Nora Roberts style. This was in that vein. On to book 2!

Disappointed

I was excited to purchase this as I loved the Miss Fortune series and Tom is a talented voice actor. However his talents were not utilized as much as they should have been. He should have had more roles with his wide range, female, sinister, good natured, knowledgeable elder characters. I was distracted by the nasal sound of the leading man and cringed. Would have enjoyed more if presented differently. In my opinion a perfect book would be written by Jana. Narrated by Tom and Cassandra or since I am dreaming Nicole Poole

Awful female narrator

Good story, would like to continue the series but will not on audible. The female narrator sounded like Siri - was this a bot doing the recording?? The male voice was fine.

Dynamic characters. Great plot.

This is a great beginning (Book 1), to what I expect to be a phenomenal storyline. Jana Deleon does not disappoint… ever.

Disappointed

I have enjoyed the Miss Fortune and Shaye Archer series and listen to them frequently. This book I did not enjoy and will not be following the series.

A good listen

The story is formulary and predictable, but that was ok. When you get that sense from the beginning, you just kickback and enjoy the listen. Character development was solid. This series start does seem to lack the humor found in the Mudbug and Fortune series but I'm willing to give the next couple of books a listen as it will likely increase like the others did over time. Narrators were good but sometimes the accent and tones were weird when changing characters. Solid reading though. Overall worth the time and moving on the book 2!
