Fun, different take on cultivation

This story takes sort-of a similar approach as The Dao of Magic: failed ascension and knocked into another realm with a different system. I really like how the story blended the two systems and made the original cultivation and skills a limited resource. This story had lots of twists and turns, and I really enjoyed the mystery of it all. I like the premise of these sorts of stories where you can basically have a bunch of a different worlds and systems loosely connected over many different books. The writing was excellent, and I listened to the the book pretty much straight through, I will definitely be getting the next book in the series when it comes out. As always, Emily Woo Zeller does a fantastic job with the narration and really enhances the story.

Slow at times, but fun overall

I enjoyed this story and the narration was pretty good. Sometimes the chapters dragged a bit and the action was infrequent. But I really like Tian's history, her way of fighting, and the fact that she is a cultivator fighting aliens and robots in a fantasy world. I look forward to the sequel.

Not really a LITRPG

The book is good but it doesn’t really feel like a LITRPG. There are no stats, no real quests, and no noticeable gains from leveling her class other than the occasional “feat”.

The story is decent and the MC is intriguing. This is more of a cultivation story than a LITRPG one.

Cultivation with a female perspective

This is one of few cultivation books with a female MC, and I want more.

A really exciting world that I can’t wait to see more of

V. A. Lewis’ completely novel take on both the genre of LitRPG and Cultivation is only overshadowed, in my mind, by just how cool the world they’ve made for the story. It has a fascinating take on the cultivator’s “immortality,” and, crucially, they juggle the overpowered and underpowered elements of the characters with perfect dexterity.

Honestly Liked It

I honestly like this book. Usually, I’m not into cultivation novels, but the idea of levels lured me in. While this book didn’t overwhelm me with greatness, it’s definitely better than your standard harem level novel. Not that it contains any of those elements. But quality wise it’s OK.

I personally liked the story, while it was a bit slow, overall it was enjoyable. As for the voice actor, Emily Woo Zeller, she did an admirable job. Every character I had a distinct voice so you could tell who was speaking. Which is good enough for me. I recommend you give it a go, it’s not perfect but nothing good usually never is.

Sincerely
Your Average LITRPG and Sci-fi Fanatic

Really enjoyed this book.

Really enjoyed the book. initially I was hesitant to buy after loving the Salvos books so much. After a bit I gave in and gave this a swing. Gotta say another strong protagonist with a thought process I can resonate with. Looking forward to more works by this author.
