Publisher's summary

Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience! *

The vision has haunted him for four years: a young woman lying crumpled in death, her hand outstretched in silent supplication. Harry Bosch was taken off the Angella Benton murder case when the production assistant's death was linked with the violent theft of two million dollars from a movie set. Both files were never closed. Now retired from the LAPD, Bosch is determined to find justice for Angella. Without a badge to open doors and strike fear into the guilty, he's on his own. And even in the face of an opponent more powerful and ruthless than any he's ever encountered, Bosch is not backing down.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Hate the music

Love Bosch.
Hate the stupid music.
How can some one play that crap when discussing beautiful jazz.

Music overpowered story

Need an option without music as the music distracted and made it hard to follow the story.

Great story

I’ve got to say I love the way Michael Connelly went back. I couldn’t press pause. It kept me glued the whole story. I am now looking even more forward to the next chapter. Good work Mr Connelly.

Brilliant!

First, Len Cariou is as good as it gets. Only Will Patton is in the conversation of best narration. His singing from”What a Wonderful World” in the voice of a distraught, disillusioned, and exhausted middle aged woman is exquisite. Second, probably the best Harry Bosch book to work with, and third, the musical enhancement could not have been more perfect. The music captures the heart of Harry Bosch. I have over 700 titles in my Audible library, and this one I put right at the top.

Another good Harry Bosch book

The narrator did a good job and additional sounds were a good touch. I always like Bosch stories.

Another good atory

Honestly I was a little worried about how this book would be because the previous book was when Harry Bosch quit his job at the police department. However, I actually think I enjoyed this book a little bit better than the previous one. The interesting thing is it seems like we're always getting a different narrator for each book, and of course they don't do the voices quite the same so at first it's kind of confusing but you get used to it.

Leave out the music

I love the story and delivery but the music was an interference for me. Leave it out.
