La historia de la protagonista es narrada al tiempo que la historia del país. La intención del autor es recuperar la parte femenina que ha quedado diluida en la historia de un país fundamentalmente masculino, donde la herencia azteca, árabe y española la ha marginado del acontecer histórico.

Too long for what it was 
Liked: the characters are very real, fallible, inconsistent, human. If I figured out the main message of the book, then I liked it, but I’m not really sure I did.
Disliked: sometimes I didn’t like the characters, there was too much political discussion that at the same time lacked depth or a connection to the reader, and it lost my interest many times. I didn’t ever feel like I really cared what happened to the main character.
