Fallen

On the eve of her profession as a nun, Lady Graeye Charwyck is called home to Medland by the father who disavowed her years earlier for the devil's mark she bears. Desperate to escape the convent, she agrees to wed a man she detests to provide an heir for her family's holdings. But when the king declares the Charwyck lands forfeit and awards them to their enemy, Graeye once more finds herself discarded. Grieved by her father's plans to return her to the convent, she yields to impulse and casts aside her virtue only to discover that the knight with whom she sinned is the new lord of Medland.

Relentless

Baron Gilbert Balmaine is a man nearly eaten through with desire to see the end of the Charwyck line for all the ills the family has visited upon his own. With the heir dead, the only remaining survivor too aged to beget another, and their lands forfeited for the atrocities committed against the Balmaines, light lies ahead--until Gilbert learns there is a daughter. And his world darkens further when he realizes she is the one who, on a starry night, tempted him past temptation. Certain she intended to trap him into marriage, he vows he will not rest until she is back within the walls of her abbey. Now if only he can forget her. If only that night did not have such far-reaching consequences...

Great Narrator, Great Story...

I really enjoy this narrator, she does a fantastic job. The story is compelling, fairly clean, and well written. Leigh does a lot of research for historical accuracy and I appreciate the proper linguistics and terminology. Very well done!

good Christian book

the book was clean, I was surprised it had a area where there was intimacy outside of marriage though it didn't have details. there was not alot of Christian values but I liked the book because it didn't have alot of the smut you find in non Christian love stories. I like tamara leighs books ( I couldn't stop listening once I started ) but if your looking for a great author of Christian romance and you want the Christian values lori wick is by far the best in my book of great Christian authors

Excellent!

Be prepared to be transported back to 1156 England by a very talented author. Ignorance and superstition cause Lady Graeye Charwyck's father to take her to a convent as a child because she has a birth mark on her forehead thought to be the devil's mark. She has never been happy at the convent and is delighted when her father orders her home just before taking her vows to become a nun. Her father wants her to marry a lecherous old man and produce an heir since her brother's death.

Before the marriage can take place, her father's holdings are confiscated by the King and given to the Balmaine family. Graeye has only heard one side of the story of her brother's murder, so she distrusts Baron Gilbert Balmaine.

Living all her life behind the high walls of the convent Graeye is unprepared for life outside and the extreme changes that have befallen her and her father. Because she doesn't want to be returned to the convent, and wanting to stay and take care of her father, who doesn't want her now that there is no need for an heir, Graeye makes some very foolish decisions/mistakes that have far reaching consequences.

This touching story flows well, with descriptions so realistic you feel like you are there. Tamara Leigh is a very talented author who holds the readers interest throughout.

Mary Sarah Agliotta gave a sterling performance. She does male voices very well. Each person's voice was distinguishable. She read like a one woman play with each role done to perfection.

I will look for more books from this author and narrator.

Second book?

Didn’t know if, like some movie sequels, the second one would be a flop but I was pleasantly surprised! Another great clean but not “cheesy” romance! Worth the credit!!

Loved it'!

What a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. This is one of the best medieval stories that I have read. It was full of adventure and romance, without all the smuttiness. I recommend this to all love a good romance! I have also read her book"dreamspell" it was also great!

Disfigurement, Danger, Disappointment & Delight

This audiobook is a favorite of mine in the "Lady " series. I loved the charged beginning and the brooding hero, Gilbert Balmaine. I was actually more interested in him as I listened, than the heroine. This character (Gilbert) was briefly in "Lady at Arms" and I'm glad he got his own tale of love. Lady Graeye seemed like a dingbat. Her naivete was at times very hard to swallow, almost to the point of thinking her quite stupid. Yet, the story was absolutely charming and hard to resist, if you are a romantic. Mary Sarah was off the charts exquisite. I so enjoy her unique velvety voice and her ability to draw you tightly into the storyline. This is what true ROMANCE is all about.
