Publisher's summary

Kitty Norville still can't stay away from trouble - of the supernatural kind.

Everyone's favorite werewolf DJ is here to mix it up just one last time. Here you will find, or even newly discover, the irrepressible Kitty Norville with friends and enemies alike: Rick the vampire; Jessi Hardin, paranormal detective; Kitty's husband, Ben; Cormac, the bounty hunter; and the villainous Dux Bellorum. These irresistible tales are full of unpredictable twists and turns: lupines experimenting with astronomy, a cheating boxer with preternatural strength, vampires arriving from the Philippines.

Disappointing

Good short stories. Some unrelated to the pervious books, but they would be good starts to other stories. However, it should never have been marketed as the next book in the Kitty series. Worth the listen, but don't expect to hear the next story in the series.

Fun set of stories

I enjoyed most of these stories. A couple left me feeling confused, but most were fun glimpses into moments in time of characters i know and love.

Entertaining Collection

This is a mixed bag. Some stories are about Kitty and other characters from that series. Other stories are about what it would be like to be a werewolf in other times and places. They are all a pleasure to experience.

lacking

struggled to finish, seemed like a lot of useless filler to write another book. seems to be true of the last couple Kitty books

15 shorts in the Kittyverse

This was a nice listen as an Audible Plus freebie, but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend a credit on it.
On the plus side, the stories are nicely labeled in the Table of Contents and I only found one repeat previously available in an anthology (The Art of Misdirection is available in the Hex Appeal collection).

There are 15 short stories, about half of which supplement the series storylines and another half that stand alone in the Kitty Norville universe. I don’t think the supplements will make much sense unless you’ve listened to the series (or at least the first couple of books). I actually preferred the standalones
as I didn’t feel the supplements added much to the series.

1 Kitty Walks On By, Will You Call My Name - “you can’t murder people at the class reunion”
2 It’s Still The Same Old Story - A Ricardo backstory and Detective Jesse Hardin crime story ⭐️
3 The Island of Beasts - WWII - answering the question: does it always go Lord of the Flies? ⭐️
4 The Beaux Wilde - Regency romance meetcute, werewolf style ⭐️
5 Unternehmen Werewolf - WWII - about the supernatural dogs of war
6 Kitty and the Full Super Bloodmoon Thing - loop de lupe, loopity-loop
7 Kitty and Cormac’s Excellent Adventure - let’s play a game that’s only half baked
8 Sealskin - featuring a Navy Seal
9 The Arcane Art of Misdirection - Odysseus Grant gets an assist from a Vegas dealer ⭐️
10 What Happened to Ben in Vegas - goes with book 3
11 Kitty and the Super Blue Blood or Whatever Moon Thing - things that make you go hmmm
12 Defining Shadows - Detective Jesse Hardin investigation meets Fillipino vampire myth
13 Bellum Romanum - Roman backstory
14 Kitty Learns the Ropes - a boxing werewolf? How does that work? Aspiring reporters want to know
15 Kitty Busts the Feds - sometimes the feds make the bigger bump in the night, get a warrant, and
oh, no! Here we go again. 🙄
