Publisher's summary

After being held prisoner for years, Artemis Fowl's father has finally come home. He is a new man, an honest man, much to Artemis's horror. He makes his son promise to give up his life of crime, and Artemis has to go along with it. But not until he has completed one last scheme.

Artemis has constructed a super-computer from stolen fairy technology. Called the "C Cube", it will render all existing human technology obsolete. He arranges a meeting with a powerful Chicago businessman, Jon Spiro, to broker a deal for the C Cube. But Spiro springs a trap, steals the C Cube, and mortally injures Butler. Artemis knows his only hope of saving his loyal bodyguard is to employ fairy magic; so once again, he must contact his old rival, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon fairy police.

It is going to take a miracle to save Butler, and Artemis's luck may just run out.

Great to listen to together

Okay, I'm not a kid, a tween, or even a teen, but I enjoy listening to this books. There are some pretty serious themes in the series--death, crime, loyalty, friendship, etc--and listening with your child gives you a chance to discuss these themes. It's also very entertaining for that time stuck in the car. Artemis learns a lot of things the hard way in this one, but I think it makes him a better person. As always, the narration is spot on. I love Nathaniel Parker almost as much as Jim Dale.

Hilarious as always

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book definitely made me laugh, quite a bit. All the Artemis Fowl books are hilarious, and this one is no exception. I know that they are supposed to be kids books, but they quite enjoyable even if you're an adult!
The plots of kind of light weight but the characters really make the story.

Always a winner

What did you love best about The Eternity Code?

Eoin Colfer keeps the ongoing story of the teenage genius and his companions, very fresh. The story is clever, funny and suspenseful. The dialogue never gets stale. Who can get tired of Mulch Diggums? Nathaniel Parker makes this one of the few series we can listen to over and over again.

not as good as the first two books.

the story was not as enthralling as the first two books, however the way it ended renewed my interest in the continuation of the story.

Simply excellent

If you could sum up The Eternity Code in three words, what would they be?

A great action story for all ages!

What does Nathaniel Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration of this book is simply excellent! The shift from character to character is amazing. He can do so many accents and it flows seamlessly- I love the Irish accents!
