What the Critics Say

"For any child fortunate enough to have this generous book...the kings and heroes of ancient legend will remain forever matter-of-fact; the pictures interpret the text literally and are full of detail and witty observation." (Horn Book)

"The best way to read the Book of Greek Myths!"

We're so happy with this purchase. We love all the D'Aulaire books and have spent many happy hours with them, but, I must admit, the Book of Greek Myths was a bit of a trying experience to read. All the many names of the Greek Gods and Goddesses left me tongue tied, but the illustrations were so compelling that the children (8, 6 & 5) requested it again and again. It was such a joy to happen upon a flawlessly enunciated, unabridged recording. We often listen to it while following along with the book. Its been a great way to share these stories and now we all know how to pronounce the names!
