Hard to hear but valuable to the soul!

This is tough, at points, to remember the trauma we were through, but if you WERE through the trauma, there's no choice but to deal with it in some way at some point. I have to admit, this narrator is incredible and great at sounding sympathetic and gentle in her delivery of these points.

Nailed it!

If you haven’t been in a narcissistic relationship, you won’t understand, but if you have, this is one of the best descriptions I’ve ever read. It’s so painful when your own family turns their back on you because of his lies then he tells people you are the crazy one. That’s how they silence you. It’s hard to fight someone without a conscience who enjoys hurting you.

I absolutely LOVED this!!!

Her strategies and tip made perfect sense and made me wonder why I hadn’t thought of them myself. I have 2 of her other books as well. She is easy to listen to and actually quite funny. I highly recommend this book along with her others.

Generic

Honestly it just didn’t resonate with me that much, seemed pretty generic. A lot of the things mentioned about how I’m likely feeling, were not how I feel. I’m sure it could help others though.

Vital point missing

I have out of a domestic violent relationship for about six months. I am currently living alone in my own apartment. One aspect that the author did not address and something that many of us need to seriously hear, is how to fit back into society. Typically people who have been victims of domestic violence have been isolated. Suddenly we aren’t. A great deal of fear is common when trying to get out and be in organized gatherings. That is part of putting our life back together and it is vital information. We need to be able to form community and often family of choice.
