Story
So many of us feel lonely, unfulfilled, or trapped—in our roles and relationships, in cycles of self-sabotage and bad decisions, by our patterns and misguided attempts to feel happy or to feel something. According to existential psychotherapist Sara Kuburic, it doesn’t have to be so difficult. Really. The answer is found in facing ourselves—whatever version that might be, regardless of whether we like the person we see reflected back to us. It’s about accepting full responsibility for the choices and actions that create our reality.

Story
For too long, women have been approaching menopause with a sense of dread and finality. Often, they don't want to talk about it until they're undeniably experiencing it—and even then might suffer symptoms in silence, either embarrassed to speak openly, or dejectedly resigned to thinking that years of discomfort and mood swings are just unavoidable. An M.D. with an appealing east-meets-west approach to women's health, Dr. Tasneem (known as Dr. Taz) has spent her career battling these outdated stereotypes and mindsets.

Publisher's summary
A “comprehensive…must-read” (Sara Gottfried, MD, New York Times bestselling author of The Hormone Cure) guide to women’s health from naturopathic physician, bestselling author, and leader in women’s health Dr. Jolene Brighten.
When discussing period pain or mood swings, hormonal imbalance or fertility issues, and all the “down there” concerns, vagina owners everywhere consistently ask their doctors one thing: Is this normal?
Whether it was from her patients or her hundreds of thousands of social media followers, Dr. Jolene Brighten has heard this simple question more times than she can count. With only eighteen states (yes, really) requiring medically accurate sexual education, it’s no wonder that so many have serious questions that need answers.
In Is This Normal?, Dr. Brighten “answers to the often unasked questions along with actionable steps on how to move forward...It’s like having a conversation with your most trusted friend...one that happens to have a medical degree” (Dr. Will Cole, New York Times bestselling author of Intuitive Fasting). TMI isn’t a term in her world. She answers all those “lady parts” questions you’ve always wondered but might not have felt comfortable asking, including topics as wide-ranging as the menstrual cycle, postpartum health, libido, acne, the orgasm gap, and vaginal discharges. No topic is too gross, gooey, or OMG to be off-limits.
Featuring a twenty-eight-day plan to take back your cycle and dozens of charts, checklists, and diagrams that help keep it real while keeping you educated, Is This Normal? is the Our Bodies, Ourselves for the social media generation, and women everywhere will benefit from this honest, easy-to-understand guide to their bodies.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

For most women, getting their period sucks. Bloating. Cramps. Acne. Aches. Moodiness. Messiness. No wonder we call it "The Curse"! For many, it's not just an inconvenience - it's a colossal life disruption, forcing them to miss work, school, appointments, or dates. We've been encouraged to medicate away common period problems with birth control and ibuprofen and just survive the mood swings as best we can. But as Nicole Jardim explains, periods aren't a nuisance, they're information.

It is essential to be aware of and take care of this rhythm, but it has been widely ignored by medical, nutrition, and fitness research. So as women, we diet, we deprive, and we cram as much as possible into our day, striving to accomplish impossible to-do lists, and scheduling our lives based on a 24-hour time cycle, ignoring the intuitive time our bodies naturally keep: a monthly cycle with four hormonal phases that offer incredible advantages.

Solid information
Although the audience for this important book’s material assumed a female audience, it was great to here it all as a man. Maybe a man’s version of this focus on a woman’s body would be a useful complement? Heck, someone ought to do the same for a man’s body, for both men and woman!

Read it and share it. It’s that good.
This book invites a no bs conversation about how to normalize rather than pathologize our lived experience regarding sex, sexuality and biological function. It’s a must read that can and should be shared inter generationally so that everyone has access to information that is so often left out of conventional and standardized education to help minimize feelings of shame, isolation and confusion.
