To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide listeners through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God.

Publisher's summary
Read by the author.
It's no coincidence that one of the most asked questions on any search engine is: "Is God real?"
When life feels overwhelming, we want to know if there really is a deity who loves us, knows us, and cares about what happens to us. Join investigative journalist and former atheist Lee Strobel on a quest to determine whether we can know with confidence that God is real.
Lee Strobel's landmark book, The Case for Christ, is one of the most respected defenses of Christianity of all time. Now in Is God Real? Lee weaves together material from his previous books with the latest evidence from the most brilliant scientific and philosophical minds to answer the pressing questions on our hearts and minds.
In this rational exploration of the proof of God's existence, Lee investigates:
- If God is real, why is there so much suffering?
- How do we know which God is real?
- If God is real, why does he seem so hidden?
- How do recent scientific findings support the claim that God is real?
- If God is real, what difference does it make?
Written for skeptics and believers alike, Is God Real? is a life-changing exploration of the question that matters most.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

Proof for atheists!
I found Lee Strobel’s approach to interviewing scientists and unpacking what the scientific community believes as extremely helpful to refer this book to my atheist friends who are scientifically minded, and look for proof for their conclusions. I’m praying their minds are open to following the data wherever it leads. In this case, I believe it leads to the conclusion God is real! From there, Lee Strobel provides wonderful evidence of monotheism, and that Jesus is truly the one God who has created all things, proven by his resurrection. His grace and desire to know us personally is evidenced by the moral compass he’s given each of us to find Him when we seek Him when we search for Him with all our heart! Thank you Lee Strobel and the Zondervan team for answering the cry for the answer to this top search engine question!

He points out the inescapable truth of the existence of God
I found the beginning a little hard to follow since I am not a scientist but the message was never lost on me. I found the historical facts so amazingly compelling and the philosophical debate cement my faith in God almighty. My prayer is that this book finds its way into the hands and hearts of so many more people who can come to know God is real and he loves you.

Believe the Bible
I have read all of Lee’s books. I especially like his investigative approach and conclusions except in one area. Genesis tells us that the all-powerful God created everything in six days. If you believe in the Big Bang billions of years ago, you do not believe God’s word. You insult his ability to create all the universe in one moment and make it "time correct" for our viewing and understanding, and to demonstrate His glory. You have to believe the great flood was worldwide with tumultuous, catastrophic resurfacing of the entire planet (see the Grand Canyon for evidence).
You have to believe ALL of the Bible. God was the ONLY eyewitness. Scientists only theorize based on their current grants (see also climate change...).

God IS Real
God IS Real!
Firstly, Lee Strobel is a wonderful writer and narrator. He provides candid, honest, and trustworthy information. All the experts he interviewed are some of the most intelligent and educated people ever!
Secondly, I enjoyed reading his books with him! His voice is soothing and comforting. This is the second book of his that I read. I'm about to start my third book!
Why did I turn to Lee Strobel?
I went on a personal journey to form a deeper and stronger relationship with God with Jesus Christ. Lee Strobel and all of those he featured, all the experts in his books, helped make that happen for me.
Read his books. Read WITH Lee Strobel! He is an honest, safe, secure, and caring hand to hold onto in your quest for answers.
For those who wonder or for those who are unsure... God IS Real! Jesus Christ IS Real! ♡
