Publisher's summary

She finally found a family to call her own... and then the light in the woods found her.

Nell Parrish never thought she’d meet a family like the Palmers — kind, attentive, accepting, they’re every foster child’s dream. But when a dark storm looms over their summer cabin one fateful weekend, and an eerie light emerges from the woods outside their door, Nell’s hope of a forever family is gripped by a waking nightmare as they soon find themselves targets of a cold, otherworldly killer.

But it’s not the only thing lurking in the woods....

When Hux is summoned by the Void — the fabric between our universe’s many dimensions — he assumes it’s business as usual. Find the trespasser, destroy it, rinse and repeat. This time, however, Hux’s trail soon leads him to a startling discovery: a teenage girl in the woods, whose mysterious nature seems to have drawn the trespasser’s bloodthirsty obsession, much to the peril of those around her.

Looking for a creepy new series to binge? Do you enjoy the mystery of strange, frightening entities beyond our understanding? Then you'll love the intoxicating Dread Void series.

Yawn! I am over 2 hrs in and dull as dirt

This book is so dul! it reads like a YA novel. The primary focus has been on the foster girl and the foster family and how nice they are and how shitty her "friends" are with a little mystery about a green light but it jumps around and other than the foster girl and her foster family you can't keep track of whom is where and what is happening. It's just a mess.
