Interesting

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I got this book to educate myself on the types of literature from this era. Growing up I learned a lot about history but many of the books that were not famous are quickly forgotten. This was a interesting collection of 12 books. Definitely an eye opener and pulled on different emotions. If your looking for something different this is your set of books to listen too.

Outstanding science fiction from the fifties

These stories are very entertaining and excellent examples of the type of science fiction produced in the fifties. Gibson puts his love and enthusiasm for this periods sci-fi into his narration. Some phrases were repeated, which should have been edited.

Ultimately unsatisfying

"Incredible Science Fiction: Amazing Tales from the '50s and Beyond" (2020) is an ultimately unsatisfying anthology of eleven science fiction stories compiled by Andrew Gibson and read by him. Gibson admits up front the stories are dated. I agree. Almost none of the stories features a woman in a prominent role—and if any story stars a person of color, I couldn’t tell. Gibson’s narration is fine, but there are a few editing problems such as repetitive sentences. Not recommended. At my request, I was given this free audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.
