Better than book 1!
Oh yes! Hex and Vusi are back together. My fear with book two was that the character Vusi would not be included in the second book. As shown by the covers to the subsequent books they are officially partners.
There is the usual conflict against an evil paranormal foe. The action happens fast and quick from the start. This book adds more complexity to the characters. Their magic continues to evolve as they work together. There is more sentimentality between the characters. they each have a come to Jesus moment.
We learn more of Grog, Father Cooney and meet Vusi’s grandmother who is totally a bad ass. She gets on Hex ass with very few comments and he cannot manufacture a smartass comment in return.
