Publisher's summary

All's fair in love and law....

Victoria and Owen are bitter rivals.

Nora and Luke are friends online.

Who would believe these two couples have anything in common?

Of all the decisions brilliant lawyer Victoria Clemenceaux has made in her life, an unforgettable one-night stand with her opposing counsel Owen Pohl is either the worst...or the best.

One thing is certain: these long-standing rivals aren't going to let their searing attraction stop them from winning the biggest case of their careers. Thankfully, Victoria and Owen have someone to vent to about their nemeses. But they have no idea that their online 'friends', Nora and Luke, are the very people they hate in real life.

As Nora and Luke grow closer online, and Victoria and Owen find their undeniable attraction harder to resist, the lines between love and hate blur. When the truth comes out, will their online chemistry work in the real world, or will their constant rivalry sever their connection?

Critic reviews

"Smart, sexy and feminist, I Love You, I Hate You is a delightful love letter to internet friends and Nora Ephron. Elizabeth Davis just became an auto-buy author for me." (Annette Christie, author of The Rehearsals)

I liked it

I had no problems with the performance, Vivienne was perfect.
My only gripe was Victoria's playing the victim near the end, because any reasonable person would realize the mistake wasn't as big a deal as it was. I dunno. it just made me salty towards her character when throughout the entire story I loved her and her "nemesis".
I liked their characters otherwise and can't wait for more from this author. cheers

4 Lawyer stars

I enjoyed this book quite a bit. I loved it was set in the twin cities and recognized all the landmarks; that was fun. Both characters are likeable and you are wanting to see them both make it work. I love the enemies to lovers trope, so this one was a win for me. Great witty bantering of lawyers and not over the top with the hate.

I had to knock it down a star for no male narrator for the male point of view. As a listener, it can be off putting trying to keep point of views straight and the narrator didn't really change tone of voice, so had to really pay attention for the he/she cues. I had to keep reminding myself it was Owen's thoughts and that can be distracting as a listener.

Also shout to Luke, Owen's cat. The true star of the show!

Painful

Everything this book is about is perfectly up my alley... But man... The lead characters are so unlikable... I feel like I really missed what was good about this book. The performance is definitely a part as to why I disliked it so much. The accents she would give characters just bothered me a lot. Just...... Not for me.
