Great advice for managers at every level!

I had been looking for a book like this and I’m so glad I found it, as I have been struggling with finding my voice, authority and a co manager who is very hard to work with. It’s a short read filled with basic but important topics when managing a restaurant or more important managing a restaurant team. There is a lot of great useful advice in a quick, easy read that keeps you interested every minute.

It’s good to learn the basics

It gives a lot of common sense advice but as we all know, common sense isn’t common so it is good to give you the basics a good general overview of being a manager.

Excellent

Addresses the issues plainly and is quick to get to point. Loved it and appreciated this book. I also like the suggestion to write down and pin up reminders of points you needed.

May be good for rookie managers

The author has dubious credentials, 3 management positions at 3 concepts in 6 years with 20% growth (in what areas?) over the course of 1.5 years as a GM - seems very unlikely, but there's some sound advice for new or disengaged managers. if you're already an experienced high performing manager there's not much here for you. A lot of subjective generalization and oversimplification.

Writing a book after 6 years in the Industry?

Nobody else finds it odd that she considers herself an expert after six years as a manager in the fast food industry? After 16 years, working my way up and learning every part of the restaurant business, I wouldn't even have the audacity to pretend like I knew enough to write a book at this point. I find it a little self-important and insulting that she does. The advice she gives is generic and could be attributed to any career and found in any self-improvement book on the shelf. Completely unrelevant and unremarkable.
