Publisher's summary

When her son Max was diagnosed with autism, Avery Abbot’s life changed forever. Her husband left, and her own dreams became a distant fantasy - always second to fighting never-ending battles to make sure Max was given opportunity, love, and respect. Finding someone to fight along her side wasn’t even on her list, and she’d come to terms with the fact that she could never be her own priority again.

But a familiar face walking into her life in the form of 25-year-old Mason Street had Avery’s heart waging a war within. Mason was a failure. When he left his hometown five years ago, he was never coming back - it was only a matter of time before his records hit the billboard charts. Women, booze and rock-n-roll - that was it for him. But it seemed fate had a different plan in mind, and with a dropped record contract, little money, and nowhere to go, Mason turned to the only family that ever made him feel home - the Abbots.

Avery loved Mason silently for years - until he broke her heart…completely. But time and life have a funny way of changing people, and sometimes second chances are there for a reason. Could this one save them both?

This story is everything!

This story was so fantastic! It was moving and emotional and heartbreaking and beautiful! Ginger Scott is a fairly new author to me, I’ve only listened to one other story of hers, but she’s made a fan out of me for sure! I will be downloading everything I can get!
Wen & Kai were amazing as usual. Every time I hear their narration I think they can’t get any better, and every time they do! You can feel every emotion, wether it’s joy or sadness or passion. They bring stories to life like nobody else!

Great Read

How We Deal With Gravity was a great read by Ginger Scott. Avery Abbot's life changed forever when her son Max was diagnosed with autism. Her dreams become a fantasy and her husband leaves her and Max. She constantly fights for Max to get the opportunities he needs, and she never believes she will find someone to fight alongside her. Mason Street walks back into her life and Avery's heart wages a war within itself. I really enjoyed reading Avery and Mason's story and can't wait t read more by the author.

Excellent Audible book and a story that will grip

This story deals with all of the emotions of a young mother dealing with the challenges of raising an autistic son without the support of her husband who abandoned both of them when he learned Max had autism. Avery is fierce in her love and devotion to Max. Mason returns home to get his like back on track after blowing his music career. He moves in with Ray, Avery's father and a fatherhead to Mason, Avery, and Max. Surprisingly Mad responds to Mason and their friendship begins.Ginger Scott takes us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions in a very sensitive and loving way. This book will have you tearing up and smiling at the same time, cheering, fighting mad, and loving Max and his support team. This is the first time I have listened to a book by Ms Scott and she wrote an excellent story.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott made this exceptional book even better with their voices. The emotions of these characters were brought to life and the listener is taken on their lifes' journeys. I received this Audible book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh the feels...

This book. Gah! It's the first book I've listened to that actually made me tear up, a lot. The narration was excellent - Kai and Wen really outdid themselves telling their stories of Avery and Mason. I laughed, got mad, cried, then laughed again. This story is an emotional roller coaster hitting on so many topics it's crazy at times. But it's well worth the price or credit - I will definitely listen to this one again. Highly recommended for sure.

Great story and narration

A very touching love story where not all dreams come true. I enjoyed this story being closer to reality where dreams are on hold and some changed.
And I really enjoy it when the male and female narrators always do the male or female roles. The man shouldn’t have to do a woman’s voice if a woman’s going to be reading the next chapter. If a character is speaking the same sex should always be that voice.
I loved that about this listen.
