Publisher's summary

In great cities of the world, humanity congregates, and commerce, culture, and cosmopolitan sophistication blossom in their gardens. But in the shadows that lie beyond the broad boulevards and glare of electric lights, great cities give birth to something else. In these shadows thrives a dim underworld, peopled by nefarious characters brought together from every godforsaken corner of the globe. And in this urban darkness the polyglot horde carries out unspeakable abominations unfit for the light of day. Can a lone policeman make a stand for decency against the godless denizens of New York’s most loathsome slum, or will he find himself consumed by the filth and depravity of nameless cults?

the kids love it

Love the way this is dramatized. I can honestly say I can't get enough. even to the point where I found a bluetooth classic radio styled speaker just to listen to these. these keep me in my toes at work and on the road.

Lovecraft attempting to break into a new market

This might. have been Lovecraft's last work. Poole said Lovecraft was trying to break into the detective fiction market. This is a little different, but not muc, than his other work.

This dramatization is solid but not slavish to the original. I recommend it.

Another Great Adaptation

This was another great episode from the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society. The Horror at Red Hook was a difficult story to adapt, particularly because of its anti immigrant focus. They manage to adapt it well. The original story was longer and the story ending isn’t in this adaptation so don’t expect the full story treatment. It is still a great showcase of vocal talent. Enjoy and collect them all.

I Loved It!!!

I love every episode DART does and this one is no different. Each episode is something a little different in its own way. Instead of horrors in remote places and ancient buildings, this story is urban. It shows that Lovecraft's monsters can exist anywhere! A very cool story and another great production.

DART does it again!

While not as engaging as some better known Lovecraft stories..and heavily woven with the author's personal biases..DART nonetheless delivers another stellar dramatization.

Changed the story too much

Good production and performance, but I they changed the story too much so I didn't enjoy as much.
