Publisher's summary

Dark Adventure Radio Theatre: The Lurking Fear brings to life H.P. Lovecraft's tale of a lingering supernatural horror in a 1930s-style radio drama. Dark Adventure Radio Theatre presents the tale with a huge cast of professional actors, exciting sound effects, and thrilling original music by Troy Sterling Nies. It’s like movies you can enjoy with your eyes closed.

A student of Native American lore investigates Yig - the shadowy snake god of an extinct tribe of the Great Plains. His investigation uncovers an account from 1889 of settlers homesteading in the Indian Territories of Oklahoma. A pervasive fear of snakes nudges a simple settler towards madness. Are his fears of the dreaded snake god's curse just the result of hearing old stories, or is a new story unfolding as Yig's curse takes hold?

A great production, only so so story.

While the production and quality of this one is top notch as always. The story for this one just wasn't as engaging as others done by the Society. While the story wasn't horrible, it didn't have any of the creeping dread or otherworldliness that other Lovecraft products have.

Vengeance of the Snake God

This was an all new adventure from the wonderful crew at the HP Lovecraft Historical Society. Terror lurks from a curse of a Native American snake god. Settlers in the late 1800 get more than they bargained for. As always, the cast and production are superb.

Best audio dramatizations of HPLC's stories

Years from now, when the HP Lovecraft Historical Society, is history.
This outfit would be always remembered as one of the best organization that promoted HPLC's works.
For me, their audio interpretations of HPLC's works are the best.
Production, the actors and actresses, editing, audio quality completely captures that, "sense of dread" that made HPLC one of the most imaginative, influential horror story author ever.

Just as good as all the others

I loved all of these and this is no exception. It’s at the same level as the others and I would recommend it to fans of Lovecraft or radio dramas.

Great performance, not a great story

The actors do a superb job in portraying their parts, but a large portion of time is set aside for tellings of other stories that have no bearing on the overall narrative, seeming only to pad out what would otherwise be a great short story.
