Get a better narrator.
Most likely not if he is reading it.
He miss pronounces words frequently.
I think this book has great information it's to bad he thought he had to read his own work.
The authentic way the author read the material as I listened.
Yes. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in becoming healthy.
The parts where he stated how much our eating affects our health negatively or positively....the choice is ours.
yes. The information contained in this audio was very helpful in encouraging good eating habits.
Constantly throughout the book he refers to the recipes or to the eating plans, which are NOT included. There should be a pdf that has those attachments, otherwise you can't try any of these principles. This was a complete waste of my money. I wish there was a way to get a refund.
It sounds to me like Furman's advice is solid and backed up. I take it in as "if the world were perfect, we'd all be eating this way." It makes sense & it's backed by data. The only draw back is it's too perfect, too strick for most people to follow. SHOULD we do this? YES 100%. Will most? Absolutley not. I do feel that I am better for reading it, already on my second go around. I think it helps me make better choices more often than not and it appears that was the doctor's intention. He is definately ahead of his time but right on the mark.
I just got very tired of his use of extremes. After two hours of listening to this book, I felt like he was starting to beat a dead horseradish. I tried getting through this book but after 4 ½ hours I couldn’t take any more.
For some people, this might be a great diet but it isn’t my cup of tea. The publisher’s summary says “When Mehmet Oz has a patient whose life depends on losing weight”. Maybe this book didn’t work for me because my life doesn't depend on losing weight. When I last saw my doctor he said all of my tests results were great. I normally eat at least 5 servings of fruits/vegetables per day and walk over an hour every day. My sibling and I have lost about 300 lbs together just by increasing our water intake, decreasing portion sizes and increasing activity levels. My family also tends to live into their upper 80s and none of them were ever vegetarians.
I think it is great that this diet has helped some people improve their health and decrease their weight but I don’t think it is for everyone.
Yoga Teacher RYT 500 Personal Trainer Avid reader and audio book listener!
It was simple to understand and when followed the results are incredible.
It really isn't a diet book but a way of eating to follow the rest of your life.
It is anti cancer, longevity producing and perfect for the person that likes to eat a lot, like me.
Doctor Fuhrman's approach to health makes so much sense for everyone, no matter if they are trying to lose weight or just trying to be healthy. I found it delicious and filling!
The audio book was very pleasant to listen to.
Learn why a whole food plant based diet is the optimal diet for health and how it can stop and even reverse nearly all the leading causes of sickness and death. Learn how to implement such a diet and what changes and benefits you can expect.
This is one of those books EVERYONE should read.
Outstanding. Highly recommended.
The comprehensive, documented scientific backing of the SOUND nutritional information
When I realized that broccoli had MORE protein per calorie than STEAK!!! What?! :)
No, I haven't.
Like many others who wrote reviews, I agree that to make this a complete tool, the audio reader needs to have a link to a PDF or website that will help guide them into the recipes and the FUNCTIONAL/MECHANICAL part of this book and the concepts it presents.
However, as a "good thing", his book and the cook book are both available in the library. I chose to check them out so that I can read along and re-read more intensely the detail laden segments that I really wanted to understand (I'm a "why" person). The recipes are handy to have, but it was rather inconvenient to go to the library for the recipes, when I had the convenience of audible.com for the content.
Yes because I prefer audio format to written ones. I seem to be able to retain it more and enjoy it more.
idk, Any diet book I guess.
I'm didn't laugh or cry.
Narration was better, I believe because the author was the narrator. He spoke passionately at the parts that he was passionate about. There's no substitute for that.
