Memorial Day. Sunny, bright, warm. Perfect weather. Kendall, a former Navy SEAL, his wife, Krystal, and their toddler son, Matthew, arrive early at the beach to beat the holiday crowd and enjoy some quality family time. It’s a perfect day...until it’s not.

Until fateful events unfold. Hate finds this happy, biracial couple and pursues them with unrelenting tenacity. Kendall and Krystal find themselves in a fight for their lives, desperate to protect their child. A husband trained to fight who will do whatever it takes. A momma bear who won’t go quietly into the night no matter how hard Hate rages to take their lives. Today, on this day we honor sacrifices made, Hate has come out to play and the stakes are life and death.

Not For the Faint of Heart

Hate Inexorable is a violent, cruel punch in the gut. If you are not easily offended, you should listen to it. The story is short, brutal and resolved at break-neck speed. The descriptions of violence and anguish are palpable. Duke does an excellent job of creating sympathetic characters in a short period of time. The reader gave the performance a severity that equaled the book's tone. My one criticism is that, by the end, it seems like the author is equating two groups who are really not comparable: white supremacists and antifa. Other than that, though, I highly recommend this audiobook.

Emotional, brutal, relevant

An excellent story from start to finish. Brutal, fast paced, emotional and not for the faint of heart. The most horrifying part of the story is how relevant it is in the modern times we live in. The character are well written and relatable. I highly recommend ANYTHING by Mike Duke.

This could be a real life horror. Imagine making your way through a violent protest trying to get your infant medicine before an asthma attack kills him. Antifa, white supremacists, you get the idea. A race war. It's amazing what a mother will do to save her baby. Or not.
The narrator was amazing too. This is one of those books where you can really sympathize with the characters.

Wow....what a story!!

This one just punched me in the face, kicked my in the ribs and then went on to try and make me cry. I was not prepared. There were a few scenes where I tried to cover my eyes then realized I was listening to an audiobook so that wasn't going to help 😳😢😭💀⁣

Ok, so the Audible vision of this was given to me by Mr. Duke a couple of days ago and I wanted to give it an honest review. It's a short one but it packs a big punch. I feel like this story is very relevant right now. ⁣
Kendall and Krystal take their infant son to the beach for Memorial Day. What starts as a fun day rapidly changes when they are caught in the middle of a stand off protest between Antifa and some Nazi a**holes. Now the Nazi's are after the family and they will do anything to get Krystal and her child because they are what the Nazi's hate, a mixed race family with what they think of as an "abomination" for a child. ⁣

This was a fantastic story! Fast paced and very will written. But it is definitely in the extreme horror category. Lots and lots of graphic violence and two scenes that will stick with me for awhile. ⁣

**small spoiler ahead**⁣

Remember American History X? Remember THAT scene, the one with the curb? Yeah......so when something similar happens here that's when I covered my eyes while listening to an audiobook. I hated that scene in ther movie and I hated it here. I get why it was there but man does that make me hurt just thinking about it!! 💀⁣

I definitely recommend this one to people that like extreme horror books. It made me feel happy, sad, angry, sick and heartbroken all in the space of an hour and a half. I'm going to listen to his book Low next because I've heard great things about it.

This story hits like a truck

I’ve been seeing Mike recommended in books of horror for years. Finally gave him a try with this audiobook and wow. It gets going like a bonfire and never lets up. The rage and sadness and sick was you feel are so incredible. The craziest part is it seems like something that can actually happen with the crazies out there these days. One thing you leave with is that both sides of the fight a hypocritical douche bags and people that radical are not to be trusted. Great job Mike you got my blood pumping.
