Love this book

I'm a big fan of Marion Keyes. She's added a few serious themes to this book, as well as the usual comedy. She's narrated herself.

Loved it

Entertaining, funny and poignant in equal measure. I loved this thoughtful book. I also loved the narration. Highly recommended!

Not all authors should narrate their own books

The story itself is, as always, a perfectly beautiful Marian Keyes delight. The only issue is the narration. A brilliant author is not automatically the best person to also narrate it. It wasn't awful, just a bit grating on one's nerves..... unless it's normal in Ireland to pronounce single words as though they are two - EG: Mouthed = Mouth-ED; Breathed = Breathe-ED; Safety = Safe-ITY; Back and Forth'd = Back and Forth-ED.
Weird.
But other than that, it's a wonderful book and I would highly recommend it.

Charming, so human and so funny

I am a longtime fan of Marian Keyes’ books but this last one is a “cherry on the top”. Fabulous characters, plot, dialogue and insight from the characters themselves. Best of all was Keyes’ own narration and I’m still laughing from her accent and narration of the ill-fated murder mystery hotel owners!

Hm...

I like Marian Keyes in interviews and youtube videos and really enjoyed some of her previous books, so I have been looking forward to this one for a while. Now that I am finished after seventeen hours I am left with very mixed feelings. I don’t want to give spoilers, so I won’t elaborate on my disappointment, but, oh well, I didn’t like the ending of the one relationship I cared about and found some excessively elaborate descriptions and character arcs really dissatisfying. That said, the book is an easy listen and the many hours pass quickly.

Marian never disappoints

As always, listening to Marian was like having a comforting chat with an old friend. This audiobook helped get me through some of the horrendous anxiety of lockdown. Thanks Marian. Your die-hard fan always.

Brought me to tears

I have read all of Marian Keyes books. They remind me of a time in my life in my twenties when I met and became friends with let’s just call her Jo. She would often buy Marian Keyes books and lend them to me when she was done.

Absolutely loved this book as I have loved all the others.

Feelgood

Feel good with some depth and perspective.

Narration was hard at first but once I got used to the accent it, I enjoyed it.

She did it again!

I have been a Marian Keyes fan since a fellow backpacker gave me Lucy Sullivan is getting married in London in 2000. I have read every book since and buy it without even reading what it’s about. So you know I’m a fan and this might be biased. I discovered Audible only 3 years ago when my son was born. So this was my first MK book on Audible - and read by the author. I LOVED IT. I might never get to Ireland to have lunch with the Keyes family but this felt very close!

Not my fav

I love this author but this work felt pushed. So much conversation in the first half of the book between so many characters. It’s so hard to figure out who is who. It took half the book to find any point to any of the stories and it felt like pointless chatter. Not a fan of this one.
