Publisher's summary

Grave witch Alex Craft is getting pulled back into deadly fae politics in the thrilling new novel in the USA Today best-selling series.

Grave witch Alex Craft has forged an uneasy truce with the world of Faerie, but she's still been trying to maintain at least some semblance of a normal life in the human world. So it's safe to say that stepping up as the lead investigator for the Fae Investigation Bureau was not a career path she ever anticipated taking.

When an explosion at the Eternal Bloom threatens to upend the fae who make their home in our world, Alex finds herself in charge of the most far-reaching investigation she's ever tackled. And it's only her first week on the job. With the threats mounting and cut off from half her allies, Alex can't wait on the sidelines and hope the fae's conflicts stay contained within their borders.

Contains mature themes.

5 stars

I'm sad that this series is over but I think this is a pretty good ending. I'll miss these characters.

Great ending to the series

I wish it wasn't the end but it was well done. This will become one of the series I re-read periodically just to hang out with the characters again. I'm looking forward to other books the author may write.

satisfying end to a great series

I’m sad that this series ended, but it was a good ending. She may have been able to get a few more stories before the ending, but still good.

Spectacularly Frustrating.

The book is awesome, but pretty much everything that can go wrong does so. However if you can keep yourself from grinding your teeth to nothing, the end is well worth the increased blood pressure. My only real complaint is that i am not sure if this is an ending book or a beginning book. If you read till the end you will see what i mean. Should be interesting to see how a borderline Xenophobe handles herself from here, though to be fair can't do that much worse than her predecessor. Though other than sating my curiosity i'm not sure where the books would go from here. Still i would be sad if this was the end of Alex's story. Lol on the other hand i would be just as interested to see what this great author could come up with next. So i will just end with hoping to see more in the future from Kalayna Price.

Good Story, Interesting Twist

I enjoyed the twists to the story line, but feel there were just a couple of small details that were unresolved. This is only a concern if the series is now ending. It at least feels that way. Fun book.

Good book, but why end a good series???

Was this a good place to end this? Was the author just tired of these characters? Of the last few series finales, I guess this wasnt the worst. Seeing as I started this series 3 years ago, this is all fresh to me. It seems like a drastic stop in production of a higher quality series.

What happened to Death? How did the Light Court react to all that happened? The Mender? Terrible Tim? What about those three days in Summer? The Summer Kings request?

Did these authors watch the finale of the Sopranos and say, "Yup, that's what I'll do too"... or GoT and think... I'm gonna make some stuff up in the end like that show just so I can save some time. Maybe my loyal fans wont notice. Ughhhh 😡

Sorry, the book is good as a PART of the series. It just sucked this is the end. And no I dont want some side story about the boring human friend. 🙄

My bad. I went there again... the narration was great... so I'll end on a high note.

Good Series

Loved it and …. There are a some loose ends. Not enough to be dissatisfied but does leave you a bit wanting of further details.

Can't stand this narrator

I've physically read all of the other Alex Craft novels, but I figured I'd listen to this one since I don't have a lot of time for reading recently. This narrator made it impossible to finish this book. Her voice is like an aural valium. She doesn't pick up any of Alex's snark or sass it's all monotone and boring. The worst narrator I've ever heard.
I haven't finished the book yet, I'm switching back to my physical copy, but so far the story is just as intriguing as the previous entries.
