Publisher's summary

Dragon shifters. Undead. Revenge.

Life has not been the same since the attack on the ship. Affected by the Druid's power, something dark lurks within Hadrian Vulmar, threatening the existence of those around him. Following a lead, Zacriah and Nyah head into the forest on an expedition to cure him.

When they are ambushed by the living dead - bodies controlled by shadow - covered in the Druid marks, they know the Druid did not perish in the sea as they first thought. The Druid is back, and with his return comes the threat of attack.

The three known Dragori are sent on a dangerous quest to stop this dark magick before Hadrian gives into his new power and the shadow beings end more innocent lives.

LOVE

Found Ben on social media and quickly bought the first book. I bought the 2nd one right after finishing the first. I am in love with this series already!

Very engaging and detailed story… however a little predictable

I do love this book series so far. The characters are well written and thought out, the emotions are written well. I enjoy how Zacriah is Unlikable in some aspects due to very real human… elvish? Flaws. It’s predictable though, maybe it’s because I’ve read and listened to many books but you could see the “twist” as soon as the characters involved in it were put into play near the beginning of the story. Though it was a good twist predictable or not

Ehh

The first book was promising enough, but this one barely treads water. The romantic leads arbitrarily avoid consummating their relationship, and no meaningful developments there. The adventure story doesn't go anywhere exciting. It's a basic, extended cat and mouse game where it feels like the tables are turned back and forth arbitrarily at the author's whim. When the heroes win out, it's generally due to luck or outside forces rather than their own cleverness. It was hard to remain invested.

Don't hold your breath

I only got the second book because at the end of the first there was potential for the hero to start growing a spine and making adult decisions. I was sorely disappointed. And every time the hero fails, rather than face consequences of poor decision making they flee, often aided by overpowered outside forces.
