Publisher's summary

Jesus said we should focus our minds and hearts on God above all else. No small task! Is there someone we can turn to for help?

"Wisdom tells us to sit at the feet of our elders rather than the latest ministry fad," notes author Kyle Strobel. And is there a better elder to guide us than Jonathan Edwards?

In Edwards, the 18th-century Puritan pastor and theologian, we find deep thought balanced with deep passion. Through his writings and practices, Edwards provides us with the tools - the "means of grace" - that make us receptive to God's work in our lives as we learn to abide in Christ. Here, we find a well-rounded account of being formed for the glory of God.

Simple and Inspiring

This book should be considered by anyone hoping to grow in their intimacy with God. What’s special about this book is that it adds to the spiritual disciplines conversation from a historical-theological perspective. This book is incredibly accessible, even for those who are not bent toward history or theology. All who read will benefit!

Enjoyable and insightful

I thoroughly enjoyed the audio version of this timeless book. I enjoyed the modern insight into Jonathan Edward's, as Edward's works are sometimes challenging to read. I have and would recommend this book to others.

WOW!

What a gem. Off to get a paperback and several highlighters. Strobel, (Kyle) delivers a book of powerful insight. If you’re serious about being a follower of Jesus Christ, this book is an amazing support. There isn’t a pastor who doesn’t need this book in their library. Thanks Kyle. Can’t wait to see what you write next.

Accessible book on Edward's

If you would like a good introduction to the devotional life and practices of Edwards then this is the book for you. Written in a very understandable and practical way.
Not given to speculation on Edwards's thinking on the topics discussed; the writer quotes Edwards himself extensively throughout. Highly recommended. You will be blessed by reading/listening to this book.

Awe-inspiring!

Kyle Strobel takes Jonathan Edwards's work and makes it accessible to less-learned people. This audiobook is interesting, insightful, thought-provoking, and motivating. It explains several important theological terms in an understandable way. It encourages Christian living and spiritual formation (explained in the book). There are still a lot of difficult theological concepts, so this is not a book to read casually. However, I would highly recommend this book to all Christians who are interested in deepening their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Great book. Not easy to follow audibly.

This is a fantastic book, but works better on Kindle or paper. You will want to highlight often. Edward’s is a facinating topic to delve into.
