Publisher's summary

The best days of your life might be still to come…

When 73 year old Jen announces that she is going to marry Eddie, a man she met just a few months previously on a beach on Boxing Day, her four best friends from aqua aerobics are flabbergasted.

The wedding is booked and, when the groom decides to have a stag trip to Las Vegas, the ladies arrange a hen party to beat all others -a week in the city of love, Paris.

From misadventures at the Louvre, outrageous Parisian cabarets, to drinking champagne with a dashing millionaire at the casino, Paris lives up to all their hopes and dreams. But a week can change everything, and the women that come home have very different dreams from the ones who got on the plane just days ago.

Funny, fearless and with a joie de vivre that reminds you to live every day like it’s your last. Judy Leigh has once again written the perfect feel-good novel for all fans of Cathy Hopkins, Dawn French and Fiona Gibson

Fun read. Quite enjoyable.

Loved all of the journeys the women took. Discovering themselves! Great characters.
I cringed a little at pronunciations of Van Gogh (Goff). And “ jesu joy of @…. Song. Should be pronounced (yea sue). Maybe I have it wrong, do they pronounce those words like that in the UK?

Lots of good voices and narration other than that.

Nearly true life

The only thing was trying to keep the characters were hard to keep the ladies and their partners straight, but I'm just as old as they are. But it was worth that small frustration waiting for the outcome.

Light hearted

Really enjoyed the bonding of 5 very different women. Glad I listened to it on audio vs reading the book as the British accents added a lot to overall.

You're not too old, and it's never too late!

A wonderful story about friendship, loneliness, and perceived expectations in women's later years. I thoroughly enjoyed the satisfying ending.

Delightful!

At last I have found a book with older women as the heroines. I loved each character and could relate with most of them on some level. What a fun book. Should be a movie.definitely recommend for us oldies between 60 and 80!

Delightful look at romance and life after 60

After a little slow start, the perception of what you think life is for gals over 60 is completely dispelled. This book made me laugh out loud and had delightful turns.
The performer did a fabulous job changing voices and bringing the characters to life.
Enjoyed this book very much.
