Publisher's summary

Lexie Greene hasn’t thought about Pierce Cagle in years. So when the popular boy she knew in high school shows up in the middle of the Somali desert, part of the SEAL team rescuing her and a coworker from kidnappers, she’s more than a little shocked. But her surprise turns to awe, then awe to respect...and attraction...when he saves her not once, but twice before they make it safely back to a US naval ship. Before she can blink, he’s gone from her life again, but not before an emotional goodbye and a promise to keep in touch.

Pierce “Midas” Cagle hasn’t thought about Lexie in years. Though he’s not surprised in the least to learn that the shy, kind girl he knew is now an international aid worker, serving the poor both at home and abroad. His attraction to the woman she’s become, however - that’s definitely unexpected. He hates leaving her behind after his mission, but Midas is more thrilled than he can say when she chooses the Hawaiian branch of Food for All for her next assignment. Their chemistry is just as strong as it was in Somalia, and neither Lexie nor Midas has ever been so happy. Nor could they possibly suspect someone is outraged that Lexie made it out of the desert alive.

Finding Lexie is the second book in the SEAL Team Hawaii series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliff-hanger endings.

I’m really enjoying this series!

In this book we follow Midas and his SEAL team as they attempt to rescue two hostages in Somalia. And while missions like this are nothing new to their team, they have never rescued someone from their past. Midas hasn’t seen Lexie since they graduated high school and he never expected to find her the target of their new rescue mission. Maybe it’s the stress of their situation or there’s an attraction that never quite burned out, but these two quickly become inseparable. And it’s a good thing because danger seems to have followed Lexie home.

Always Just Right

I feel like I always know what I'm getting with a Susan Stoker romantic thriller, and I'm never disappointed.

I love the way this book started, with a rescue mission gone sideways in Somalia. Lexie and Midas have great chemistry and a mostly relaxed, easy-going camaraderie. She sees the good in everyone, and Midas, of course, has seen the uglier side of humanity. Even though they don't see eye-to-eye on everything, they're willing to find common ground. Midas is sweet when he's not showing his over-protective caveman side. Lexie is more of a firecracker than people expect her to be. Sparks fly often, fast, and with serious heat. Fun to follow.

If you haven't read the first in this series, no problem. Each book can easily be read and enjoyed independently.

Another great story!

Another swoon worthy story told by Susan Stoker. Some added magic with heart throb Teddy Hamilton as one of the performers and versatile Emma Wilder. Warning: you will not stop at one book in this series but instead you WILL want to read each book!

🗝Princess meets Alpha SEAL sweetie!

🔹Overall this was a FUN book! Thanks why I love Susan Stoker and her books - that take me out of my daily grind and place me in her poetic universe!

PROs- This was an "upbeat, romantic, sexy, action packed" story! The characters are likable, interesting and intriguing. Im glad Susan wrote upbeat _happy" ending books! The world is full of gloom n doom these days - and after watching the news daily - a book like Susans is much appreciated!
I ADORE her writing skills - I also thought Emma and Teddy did a GREAT job narrating over all.
How can you not like this story line...WOW, action packed - touring all over the globe and being rescued by a hot man in uniform! GUSH!

I love Susans "FLOW" ....She takes you Directly into the line of fire- with heavy action pulsed scenes that DRAG you into the story! ...she follows up with a "LOVE Connection" between her two main characters that keep you Interested and wanting MORE! She gives you plenty of back ground on her characters - making them more likable and makes you want to see them succeed! Plenty of HOT SEX scenes in between! (Gracias) and wraps up with a heroic / happy ending! AHHH- FANTASTIC!

No real CONS- my only after thoughts are.....I wish Emmas narrating had more "DEPTH" - she narrating sounds a bit "scripted" as if you called an insurance company and shes reading the disclaimer. lol. She a bit stiff at times and I wish she could "break" the mold a bit - PLEASE!

Her character came off as adventurous - which I liked but also too Naive. She didn't seem to have any " street" smarts! (Ive know people who did her style of occupation and were captured and help for ransom in Morocco, Peru and Qatar) NO BUENO! I understand this is a book - but these things still happen every day! I wish the writer would have made Lexies character " EVOLVE".

The only scene I didn't care for was between Lexie & Baker ( Midas's amigo ) It was amazing on how Lexie stood up for herself - but didn't like the way Lexie just "forgave" how Baker insulted her! Baker over stepped his bounds... ROYALLY! Nobody has the right to speak to another person that way. Baker was rude, outspoken, and basically an ASS*OLE! Lexie should have told him to "get bent"... walked off...Then filled Midas in and laid the law down - Alerting Midas she would NOT be interested in "hanging" out with him every again! Just because your boyfriend has "friends" doesnt mean you have to put up with their bullshit, nasty language, innuendos or bullying! F- THAT! Nobody needs friends that like! Write this LOOSER out of any future books - PLEASE!

Ive met many SEALs over the years- and most of them have an "ATTITUDE" problem. Thats why I like Susans books - since she defines her leading males as likable, kind and down to earth!

Aloha

What i loved most about this series is how Susan puts actual businesses/places into the story. And can the narrators pronounce the Hawaiian names perfectly. I lived in Kaneohe on the island of Oahu over 15 years and have been to all the places Susan has mentioned in this book and in the 1st book. Leonard's Bakery is ono! The swap meet and ABC stores are the best places to shop. It really makes the story come alive when i can say that I've actually visited places mentioned. Mahalo Susan! can't wait for more books in this series. NOTE TO SUSAN: Do you have a recipe for those pumpkin spice cookies? I lost mine. 😞

Character development

I’m somewhat saddened that Ms. Stoker feels the need to have villains in her books. Her skills at character development are such that she could eliminate the secondary villain(s) and the books would be as strong. Compelling characters!

I like there being a male and female narrator's it made the book that much better.

Keep getting better

I have read all but a handful of Susan's books. They just keep getting better. I couldn't wait for Lexie's release and was not disappointed. Great story.
