Publisher's summary

Jada left home at the age of sixteen, running from her own demons and the horrors of physical abuse inflicted by her mother’s boyfriend. She partied hard, and life seemed good when she was with Born, the neighborhood kingpin whose name was synonymous with money, power, and respect. But all his love couldn’t save her from a crack addiction. Jada goes from crack addict and prostitute to survivor and back again before she finds the strength to live for herself and come out on top. And her stormy romance with one of the fiercest hustlers on the streets makes White Lines one of the most unforgettable urban love stories of the year.

Frustrating

This book was so frustrating to me because I couldn't wait to get to the end to find out what happen with Jada And borne. I've always been a reader and will have to say by far this is one of my favorite books. I enjoyed everything about it. I know about the street life And so did the author that wrote this book. That's what also made it so interesting like Damn how the author know about this or that. I listen to it just at work. 8 hour shifts and was about to get through 4 days with it. Really enjoyed this book

Great Interest Keeper!

What made the experience of listening to White Lines the most enjoyable?

Easy listening and the entire story kept my attention. I hated when I had to find a spot to pause the story.

What did you like best about this story?

The roller coaster ride and the ups and downs. Felt like I was involved in the story the entire way.

Which character – as performed by Allyson Johnson – was your favorite?

Really don't have a favorite. All of them were done very well throughout.

Great Story, It's Worth the Time to Listen

Really enjoyed listening to this novel. Narrator was excellent , the listener is able to identify each character's voice. This is the second novel I have listened to by this author. And will be listening to more.

Voice preference

I would of preferred the authors voice or someone ethnic since it is urban fiction ….. the country white women reading through me wayyyyyy off . I read the book myself I loved it so much I’m starting the whole series over from the beginning so just to recap I played the audio book . I appreciate this other wise thankssss

Awesome

The length and the story itself was super interesting. The background of each character was super informative. I just wished she had that happy ever after. 😩 but overall it was a great listen.

One of my fav books!

Whew! I fell in love with this book 15 years ago. It is one of my favorite books of all times. I have read this book at least 5 times and each time it makes me love it even more. This is my first time listening to it though. The reader was kind of trash but the book is good!!!!

GREAT GREAT AND GREAT

Would you listen to White Lines again? Why?

I have already started listening to this book for a second time. The narrator was great and so was the story.

What other book might you compare White Lines to and why?

NONE. This is by far the best book I've ever read or listened to.

What does Allyson Johnson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotions.

If you could rename White Lines, what would you call it?

I would keep the same title

Any additional comments?

Loved this book; highly recommended!!

Good story

I give the book 4 stars though I feel it was nicely written I feel like it was poorly told. the black characters were made to sound like uneducated southerners oppose to the voices of New York city hoodlums.

Best Book I've read In a Long Time

I am constantly listening to different books, and they are all good, but this one tops them all. I could really vision the characters in this story. There were times that I cried because there were happy and sad moments in the book. I really felt sorry for Jada in this book. A lot of situations that she was in made me sad for her. There are a lot of lessons in this book. It is very realistic.I recommend this book to everyone. It kept me on my toes from the beginning.
