This book is an inspiration for the down hearted who have found themselves in an unexpected, sometimes undeserving circumstance. It also deals with breaking unhealthy chains and patterns in families, forgiveness and hope.
I had a hard time getting into the book however once the main people were developed it got better. It was a little predictable but it was enjoyable.
This book has a very profound message. The narrator is par-excellence. The story is a beautiful one and spoke to my heart in powerful ways. I hope to see many more Karen Kingsbury books available on Audible and also would enjoy listening to other books read by this narrator. The spiritual message of this book is exactly what I love to experience. Thank you!
Very much enjoyed this book. This book came so very close to telling some of my own life story, it was almost scary! Great book, as usual. Keep them coming, Karen!
The storyline, the characters, the author writes an amazing story. This is my first book by her but wont be my last.
None that I can think of.
When mother and daughter are reunited.
Yes and I did listen to 13 hours at one time. Finished it the next morning.
This book is an emotional roller coaster. One you will never forget.
not from Brooklyn, from Chapel Hill, NC
It showed how one wrong decision can spiral into life changing situations that go on and on but God's hand was there all the time. They just had to believe.
When the child prayed for her real father, unbeknownst to her. A believing child! Who would have thought...
She was good. I liked her
Listen to God
Highly recommend this book. Made me question my decisions. Stay in prayer and read the bible so you can be aware when situations arise.
It was my first Karen Kingsbury book. I loved it! I wanted more!! My new favorite author!
I would shorten this book by at least 1/3. This story goes on and on and on and the same situation repeated several times. Several characters pray the same prayer many many times. I understand the author is trying to get the point across how important prayer is but to listen to this little girl crying for her mommy every other page gets very old.
Again the repetition of the same scenario over and over got old.
I did not care for the accent the narrator used. She had what I found as an annoying voice.
I cannot see this as a movie. It would be a very boring movie. Too drawn out.
I have read many of Karen Kingsbury books and found them all very good and delightful and I could not put them down and anxiously waited for the next book, especially those in a series. But this one did not do it for me. Maybe reading it instead of listening to it would be a better read.
Retired CFO, Army wife, Mom of five, Grandma of six, two sons who served in combat, love to read books that reflect my values and faith, love mysteries, historical, military stories, and books that don't waste my time . . . if it doesn't have an ending that was worth the wait, I'm not a happy camper.
I seldom listen to a book twice
She did a good job
This is a healing book for anyone who has made mistakes or wrong choices, and for Christians who mistakenly think that they are "perfect". I love books like this that confront real life issues and require Christians to take off the "mask".
This is a book written from a Christian point of view, however, this book would be good for anyone who may have struggled with mental breakdowns; being hurt by the church or the issue of self pride.
