Publisher's summary

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies

A “cheerfully engaging”(Kirkus Reviews) novel for anyone who’s ever asked herself, “How did I get here?”

Alice Love is 29, crazy about her husband, and pregnant with her first child. So imagine Alice’s surprise when she comes to on the floor of a gym (a gym! She HATES the gym) and is whisked off to the hospital, where she discovers the honeymoon is truly over - she’s getting divorced, she has three kids, and she’s actually 39 years old.

Alice must reconstruct the events of a lost decade and find out whether it’s possible to reconstruct her life at the same time. She has to figure out why her sister hardly talks to her, and how is it that she’s become one of those super skinny moms with really expensive clothes. Ultimately, Alice must discover whether forgetting is a blessing or a curse, and whether it’s possible to start over....

Wonderful book

Where does What Alice Forgot rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really wasn't sure when I downloaded it but I became so involved with the characters, I felt as if I were apart of their lives. It one of my favorites!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elizabeth was my favorite sister. Her feelings were so open and honest and brutal, I cried with her in sadness, agony, frustruation and celebrated with her in joy!!!

Which scene was your favorite?

The very beginning scene when Alice was trying to connect words after her accident was so funny.

If you could take any character from What Alice Forgot out to dinner, who would it be and why?

I loved Frannie. She was just so sweet and honest and mischievous!

Good Book!

I would consider this a "light" read. I have read several of Liane Moriarty's books and would probably put this one in the middle ranking, among the other books written by her that I have read.

Predictable, but engaging...

From the beginning of the narrative, you're drawn into Alice's world. A story told from different perspectives; Alice has lived a very different life from the one she remembers following a bump on the head. There were moments in the story where I wanted to smack my head and say, "really?!?", and moments where both the author and narrator brought you very close to the bittersweet feelings that Alice experiences. Although the story follows a predictable storyline, it was immensely pleasurable to listen to.

yasssssss liane is queen!

This definitely comes in as second only to Truly, Madly, Guilty. Funny and loveable. I just wish that the narrator would have done better voices, but she really did a splendid job as well!

Would recommend

What Alice Forgot made laugh, cry and a bit of everything in between. I read Big Little Lies and loved it so decided to try a second book from this author and it did not disappoint.

Alice hurried the ending

I liked the story, however it seems that all of a sudden it was time to end the book so that all the storylines were wrapped up and it was done. I would have liked to spend a little more time in the evolving lives of both Alice’s and Elizabeth’s before the end of the story.

Loved this story

An amazing snapshot of life and love and marriage and how perspectives can be reset if you give life a chance. Sometimes a whack on the side of the head is just what the Doctor ordered

Loved it!!!

I really enjoy Liane Moriarty's books! This one was great- she has a different issue in each of the books, stalking, domestic abuse, and in this one infertility. Always very thought provoking.

Great book, loved every minute.

Very well written book. Not my usual type. I was impressed though, and not at all bored. I thought it was very well done.
