Publisher's summary

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies

A “cheerfully engaging”(Kirkus Reviews) novel for anyone who’s ever asked herself, “How did I get here?”

Alice Love is 29, crazy about her husband, and pregnant with her first child. So imagine Alice’s surprise when she comes to on the floor of a gym (a gym! She HATES the gym) and is whisked off to the hospital, where she discovers the honeymoon is truly over - she’s getting divorced, she has three kids, and she’s actually 39 years old.

Alice must reconstruct the events of a lost decade and find out whether it’s possible to reconstruct her life at the same time. She has to figure out why her sister hardly talks to her, and how is it that she’s become one of those super skinny moms with really expensive clothes. Ultimately, Alice must discover whether forgetting is a blessing or a curse, and whether it’s possible to start over....

Liked Big Little Lies better, but this was lovely

Where does What Alice Forgot rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 20

What did you like best about this story?

It was tidy and easy to follow.

Have you listened to any of Tamara Lovatt-Smith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Her voice is lovely. No complaints (and I'm picky when it comes to narrators!). Good that she didn't try switching voices for different characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Coming of age. Then coming of age again. Then once again.

Highly Recommend

Just finished "What Alice Forgot". So Good! I don't know if I've ever felt so "in" a book-not just into-I got completely lost in it, like she was me..or I was her. Felt like it changed me as it changed her. Made me want to be a better person. Author has great way of making things seem so real. When it ended It took awhile to re-enter this time & space, like when you don't want to wake up from a dream that seems so real. I liked the narrator too-that's just as important with an Audio book.

excellent read!

I have read all but Leeanne Moriarty's first book, "THREE WISHES." This book speaks to almost any female reader that would find herself in almost any predicament, it's real, it's raw, I really could identify with most of the characters in this book. If you enjoyed her other books I would definitely recommend this one. It does not start off slow, it starts off with a bang and maintains that momentum. I laughed and cried a lot throughout the book, it could've been PMS, LOL. The only book left for me to read at this time by this author is, "Three Wishes," which is ironically, her first book.

Sweet story with several twists.

First kudos to the narrator! Her voice is so sotrhting that listening to her on a sleep timer is the perfect wind down before bed.

This is my firsr book by this author and it was great. The characters were fully developed and the way the characters were transitioned was effortless even though they they switched from 1st person to 3rd person. The story has a few twists but nothing over the top. If you want a good old fashioned story, you've found it. Enjoy

Could not stop listening

Although a little slow at first, it got to the point where I just wanted to keep listening and was so disappointed when it ended. I wanted the story to go on for much longer but she did wrap it up in a bow. It is every bit as good as the popular Big Little Lies.
