Publisher's summary

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies

A “cheerfully engaging”(Kirkus Reviews) novel for anyone who’s ever asked herself, “How did I get here?”

Alice Love is 29, crazy about her husband, and pregnant with her first child. So imagine Alice’s surprise when she comes to on the floor of a gym (a gym! She HATES the gym) and is whisked off to the hospital, where she discovers the honeymoon is truly over - she’s getting divorced, she has three kids, and she’s actually 39 years old.

Alice must reconstruct the events of a lost decade and find out whether it’s possible to reconstruct her life at the same time. She has to figure out why her sister hardly talks to her, and how is it that she’s become one of those super skinny moms with really expensive clothes. Ultimately, Alice must discover whether forgetting is a blessing or a curse, and whether it’s possible to start over....

Awesome!!!

I loved this book so much. I can't believe I'm going to say this but I might have liked it better than Big Little Lies. The story of Alice was so believable and you were swept in from the first moment she started waking up in the gym. I was a little worried the narrator wouldn't be as good as Caroline Lee but I was wrong. Tamara Lovatt-Smith was superb.

You won't forget it

I loved everything about this book. The characters are distinctive and memorable -- especially Alice. Many circumstances are unusual yet quite believable . The unpredictability of it all is a delight. Alice will provoke you to evaluate your own life: what's really important? What are the true matters of the heart? Tamara Lovatt-Smith's narration brought the story to life.

Best book I’ve listened to in a long time!

The first time in a long time that I’ve listen to a book that I loved so much that I was looking forward to having any time alone to get to listen to it. The narrator does a perfect job at narrating the story. Really really enjoyed it!

I keep putting myself in Alice’s shoes

I’ve consistently enjoyed Liane Moriarty’s books. This is the first time, I’ve put myself in a characters place. Without giving anything away, there were a few events that I could personally relate to. I really enjoyed this book and the narrator has a lovely voice.
