When Alice Love surfaces from a beautiful dream to find she's been injured in a gym, she knows that something is very wrong – she hates exercise. Alice's first concern is her baby – she's pregnant with her first child, and she's desperate to see her husband, Nick, whom she knows will be worried about her. But Alice isn't pregnant. And Nick isn't worried. Alice is the mother of three children and her hostile husband is in the process of divorcing her. Alice has lost ten years of her life.
In the days that follow, small bubbles of the past rise to the surface, and Alice is forced to confront uncomfortable truths. It turns out forgetting might be the most memorable thing that's ever happened to her.

I am a total audiobook addict! I travel quite a bit for work and listen to them while I drive. Always searching for a good author to follow
Yes I probably will listen to it again
I loved the concept of the book. It was so well written and believable.
I liked all of them but my favourite was Franny
Imagine skipping 10 years of your life
I'm just new to listening to Liane Moriarty and I lust love her stories! This is my second book of hers, I listened to My Husbands Secret and loved that's. This one I enjoyed more and didn't want it to end.
Yes, the Australian narrator nailed the funny moments and accentuated the personalities of the main characters
None so far. It was very different and a real opener to how we can change in 10 years, why and how everyone has a different perspective on things
I loved Elizabeth and her "homework" to her Doctor
WhenAlices senses were overloaded in the hospital by frangrance. Sense of smell is very emotive and it captures this perfectly
I could hardly stop listening. The story seems very true to reality. I love the way the author interprets her characters, so honest and sometimes very funny. And of course I love Caroline Lee as a reader. It's so easy to listen to her. She is a very talented lady.
Really enjoyed this book. It was engaging, the characters were well described and realistic. In book form I would have found it hard to put down.
Not as good as Liane Moriarty's other works, but still solid effort. Good narration and engaging throughout.
Liane Moriaty has a way of making very real characters present very real issues in a thought provoking and clever way. Caroline Lee brings these characters to life. They are the pole next door, your old school teacher, the guy at the coffee shop...it's li,ke walking through your own life but with your eyes and ears really wide open!
onto my third and still going. Big Little Lies is the best though!
Caroline Lee makes the characters real. She has a fabulous sense of timing. I can see that she and the author must have a very good understanding of each other
the realisation that time changes most things but not who we really are pops up many times during the book and it is a simple but refreshing and somehow deeply comforting
read this book. she tells a great tale in a very clever and moving way and the narrator is all these characters, just as you might read (or hear) them yourself.
This is the second book I have listened to by Liane Moriarty and read by Caroline Lee. The narrator does an excellent job and really enhances the book. Always a plus when that happens. I liked the twists and turns in the plot and imagine if this really did happen.
I have a busy career, travel a lot and don't have much time to read, so I listen to Audio books. I love reading!
A good story of a marriage that has gone wrong and how there's simplicity in fixing it if only we could forget the past.... Which Alice did! A story of a normal life, the climb up the corporate ladder and how material things get in the way of love and life. A lovely read!
Absolutely! Mind-shifting! Take a little time and walk in the shoes of the main character, it's a fun and moving read!
The premise, you wake up from a head injury and you have forgotten the last 10 years - what assumptions about your relationship then would you make now! Beautifully written!
Energy and fun! She brings the humour out fabulous!
Love Liane Moriarty and this is a favourite amongst her novels
"Thought provoking, difficult to put down"
Makes you think!
How useful it is for us to take a step back and look at our own life's with innocent eyes
I really enjoy listening to Caroline Lee. I liked Frannie best
If I could have done. I would have.
A really excellent book. I want another to listen to now!!
I have now listened to two books by this author and have enjoyed both. The narrator, Caroline Lee, is very good particularly when reading the children's parts. It is a story about a family and a marriage set in Sydney, Australia which makes a change from the usual USA or UK. The story is satisfying with a good beginning, middle and end. What more can you ask for unless you are wanting something highbrow to listen to?
"A must listen"
The narrator Caroline Lee makes this book. She bring all the characters to life. The story is really easy to listen to and very funny in parts.
The story is really easy to listen to and entertaining.
I really enjoyed this book, i felt quite emotional towards the end, and I enjoyed all the characters subplots and storylines.
"This was a delightful surprise"
I loved this and it's not my usual sort of read. I chose it after reading Little Lies, which I enjoyed but this was even better. What could have been a very contrived story line was rendered captivating by the freshness and humour, beautifully brought to life by the narrator. It would be hard to read without considering what our ten-years-ago self would think of us now!
"Makes you think!"
An interesting story which makes you think about relationships.
Alice's understanding that it's so easy to bicker with the one you love without realising the damage you're doing.
Alice was my favourite character.
If only it was possible to be the person you once were ..
I loved this book. It was a good story, and made me think about my relationships. It made me question the type of person I am, and to make me think about how I'd grown and matured not always for the better.
"What a moving and entertaining book!!"
I love this author. A very witty yet emotional story. As usual I will miss the characters and look forward to her next book :)
"Enchanting complex and thought provoking"
Excellent narration really enhanced the experience
Liane Moriarty is a clever and entertaining writer a great listen highly recommend you give her a try
"How life changes our personality"
How she came to realise how much she had changed over the last 10 years. How it changed how she veiwed others, how other people viewed her, and her outlook on life. It really made me think how I might have changed over the last 10 years!! I sort of guessed how the story might end but it was still nice to hear the happy ending - and for her sister too.
Possibly, 'Before I go to Sleep' only because the main character in that had also lost her memory, but the story lines were quite different.
annoying, high pitched, irritating. (I see that she narrates most of Lianne Moriartys books and for that reason I could not listen to another!!)
O would some power the gift to give us to see ourselves as others see us.(Robbie Burns)
Really good book and worth reading, but only listen to it if you can endure the narrators irritating voice!!
"It's an old idea but works well"
Character suffers bang on head and forgets what time they live in. This is an old idea but What Alice Forgot is a very good example. Loved the interaction between Alice and her sister in particularly. The story will probably make any mother who listens think hard between their pre baby and post child selves, it certainly did for me. If only we could go back and tell our childless selves what parenthood really means!!!
