Publisher's summary

When Alice Love surfaces from a beautiful dream to find she's been injured in a gym, she knows that something is very wrong – she hates exercise. Alice's first concern is her baby – she's pregnant with her first child, and she's desperate to see her husband, Nick, whom she knows will be worried about her. But Alice isn't pregnant. And Nick isn't worried. Alice is the mother of three children and her hostile husband is in the process of divorcing her. Alice has lost ten years of her life.

In the days that follow, small bubbles of the past rise to the surface, and Alice is forced to confront uncomfortable truths. It turns out forgetting might be the most memorable thing that's ever happened to her.

Very enjoyable and thought provoking

Loved the reader. I'll look out for her in the future. This is not a literary masterpiece but it's a good story told from different perspectives. Made me think of how I'd cope and what I would do if this happened to me, and what I would like to do differently to avoid "what if"s and "I wish I'd had"s. I liked most of the characters, and felt empathy with them. I'd recommend it.

Life as we know it..

A good story of a marriage that has gone wrong and how there's simplicity in fixing it if only we could forget the past.... Which Alice did! A story of a normal life, the climb up the corporate ladder and how material things get in the way of love and life. A lovely read!

Not my favorite by this author

It took a few chapters to get into the story. Once you do, it's an interesting story. Worth it in the end.

Liane + Caroline = magic

Where does What Alice Forgot rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've also "read" The Husband's Secret by Liane and loved that one, though it was a bit more tragic than this one overall.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Gina. It's always about Gina.

What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Caroline Lee as a narrator. There is another version of this book that is more widely reviewed by a different author but is 2 hours shorter? Due to pace? I choose this version specifically for Caroline's great work.

Annoying Narrator!

Would you try another book from Liane Moriarty and/or Caroline Lee?

I am sorry but this narrator's voice is just plain annoying!! I really cannot understand how this was produced with this narrator! Please re-record!!

Boring and repetitive

I'm fairly new to audiobooks, however I couldn't see what all the fuss was about with this one. I found the story very shallow, extremely repetitive and very, very slow.

Annoyance in premium form

Probably, no definitely the most annoying and irritating narrator ever. Story not too bad, so Mills and Boonish though. Performance over dramatical and I just do not like her accent and screeching voice.

not as good as expected

This is my third Liane Moriarty book. After thoroughly enjoying The Husband's Secret and Big Little Lies, I couldn't wait to jump into another. WJF did not measure up to the other two.
