Publisher's summary

Lara Lington has always had an overactive imagination, but suddenly that imagination seems to be in overdrive. Normal professional twenty-something young women don’t get visited by ghosts. Or do they?

When the spirit of Lara’s great-aunt Sadie–a feisty, demanding girl with firm ideas about fashion, love, and the right way to dance–mysteriously appears, she has one last request: Lara must find a missing necklace that had been in Sadie’s possession for more than seventy-five years, and Sadie cannot rest without it. Lara, on the other hand, has a number of ongoing distractions. Her best friend and business partner has run off to Goa, her start-up company is floundering, and she’s just been dumped by the “perfect” man.

Sadie, however, could care less.

Lara and Sadie make a hilarious sparring duo, and at first it seems as though they have nothing in common. But as the mission to find Sadie’s necklace leads to intrigue and a new romance for Lara, these very different “twenties” girls learn some surprising truths from each other along the way. Written with all the irrepressible charm and humor that have made Sophie Kinsella’s books beloved by millions, Twenties Girl is also a deeply moving testament to the transcendent bonds of friendship and family.

Loved It!!

This has got to be my favorite Sophie Kinsella book, and that’s saying a lot since I adore them all. Once again this narrator gave a stellar performance as if it was a movie playing out in your head. Loved every single second of it!

I thought I would hate it… but no!

This book took me some time to really get into, especially when I realized she saw a ghost. But don’t give up on it! I gave it some time and actually ended up loving the book and loving the ghost aunt she was helping. Love the banter between them and just giggled at the situations she would get in having her great aunt talk to her! The love story that came to be was heartbreaking and lovely all at once. Very well written!

Not one of my favorite Kinsella novels

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It did have its moments but all in all I could have missed this one.

If you’ve listened to books by Sophie Kinsella before, how does this one compare?

Below par.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any scene in public and she is talking to her Aunt Sadie and everyone thinks she is crazy. Smart to use the phone to cover up.

Do you think Twenties Girl needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, I just didn't love the characters.
