Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Sophie Kinsella returns with a festive new Shopaholic adventure filled with holiday cheer and unexpected gifts.

’Tis the season for change and Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is embracing it, returning from the States to live in the charming village of Letherby and working with her best friend, Suze, in the gift shop of Suze’s stately home. Life is good, especially now that Becky takes time every day for mindfulness...which actually means listening to a meditation tape while hunting down online bargains.

But Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents host, carols play on repeat, her mother pretends she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors come ’round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters. Things are looking cheerier than ever, until Becky’s parents announce they’re moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch - unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocados - and ask Becky if she’ll host this year. What could possibly go wrong?

Her sister demands a vegan turkey, her husband insists that he just wants aftershave - again, and little Minnie demands a very specific picnic hamper: Surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old-boyfriend-turned-rock-star and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear. But as the countdown to Christmas begins and her big-hearted plans take an unexpected turn toward disaster, Becky starts to wonder if chaos will ensue, or if she’ll manage to bring comfort and joy to Christmas after all.

Hilarious and charming!

Wow. I just finished this book and had more than a few LOLs while reading. What a hilarious story and the things the main character finds herself in the middle of. Ha! I could relate to her in some of her scenarios. Overall, this book maintained the lighthearted laughs with Christmas charm. It was a great read! Highly recommend.

Delightful!!

I listened to this while I shopped for Christmas presents and cooked Christmas dinner and wrapped presents and thought it would just be a sweet story to pass the time - which it was - but it was so much more than I expected. It made me smile and laugh and even tear up. Loved it so much!! Loved the narrator as well! A perfect Christmas treat!

Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is back!

After the disaster that was “Shopaholic to the Rescue”, it’s nice to see Becky back into the groove of things, although Minnie was otherwise absent as well as Eleanor which could’ve lead to more fun. Excited for any more in this series to come!

Always Delightfully Entertaining

In the true spirit of the Shopaholic Series, Becky finds herself in one hilarious situation after another. Her generous heart and compassion shine through and win over most readers. This is a great book to listen to for the holiday season or anytime.

A new Kinsella fan!

This is the first book I've listened to by this author and I absolutely loved it. I laughed so much that I didn't dare listen while I was up late Christmas Eve lest I wake my family. Some of the laughter was from purely silly situations but much of it was from very relatable situations told in a cleverly insightful way that highlights the humor in everyday events. I felt like many of the characters were my friends and family (really... I was picturing some of them as I listened). And it was a well-crafted Christmas story with heart as well as humor. This book was the essence of Spruga! (sp?)

SPOILER: I loved the idea of giving someone a word as a gift.

Shopaholic Lives

I have always loved the Shopaholic Books and looked forward to the new adventures of Becky Brandon; however, this one was just too ridiculous... Becky has aged over the years, but she still acts like a young child; I would love to see her mature. I so wanted to like it, but it was too predictable and a bit eye-rolling at some parts. I finished the book because I can't leave something hanging... but, that was 12 hours of my life that I won't get back.

Sophie Kinsella never fails

I’m a long time fan of this series, and was so excited to see a new book!!! It did NOT disappoint. As always, the humor and mishaps entertained all through the book. Is it her BEST book? No. But come on, are we really looking for a literary experience here or just to be entertained? I just want entertainment and this book delivered.

I didn’t want it to end

Sophie Kinsella has done it again! A perfectly heartwarming novel and one of my favorites so far in the Shopaholic series. As is always the case with Kinsella’s best works, I laughed, I cried, and I didn’t want the story to end. A great, lighthearted read that is perfect for the Christmas season - or any time of the year, for that matter!

Comforting and Funny

This author is very witty and I just loved this book. I spent Thanksgiving alone this year, listening to this audiobook while packing up the house. It was a huge help and made me feel happier going about my business
