Publisher's summary

Internationally best-selling author Tim Dorsey's irreverent and hilarious novels starring evil genius Serge A. Storms, lovable psychiatric hospital escapee, zoom along at breakneck speed, delivering laughs and shocks in droves. In Torpedo Juice Serge heads for the Florida Keys, where, curiously enough, he isn't the saltiest nut in the jar. Since it's always a good idea to fly under police radar, Serge figures the Keys are just the place to lie low. Plus, he has two missions to accomplish: re-invent himself and get married, although he hasn't picked the lucky lady yet. But what he doesn't know is that enough serial and spree killers are headed his way to have a parade of psychopaths. Are the Keys big enough for all the lunatics?

Coleman's back?

Where does Torpedo Juice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This may be the best "Serge" book of them all

Who was your favorite character and why?

While Serge is my favorite, Coleman ranks right up there, too

What does George Wilson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This time, he was part of it, too funny

If you could take any character from Torpedo Juice out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Serge, his mind is amazing!

Any additional comments?

A must read, or, as in this case, listen!!

Hysterical

I love the dark humor and satire. In the early Serge Storm books I like George k. Wilson as the narrator.

Not his best

Hilarious in parts, but not up to previous exploits of Serge & Coleman. Narrator is very good for the characters.

Da boys + girls are back!

Nice story line and quick timing. Serve and Coleman take listeners on a fast paced trip of FL Keys. Most of the locations are probably not widely advertised. The 2nd book was not a disappointment!

Narrator Needs Surge's Tour

Love this series. This one meandered A bit more than usual, but altogether a good romp. The narrator does need to ask locals how to pronounce location names though. it kept taking me out of the element when he would say names with a non Floridian accent.

Perfect

This is a great book to listen to. The narrator does an excellent job, and the author is very hilarious. Looking forward to more books by both.

Great story, choppy download

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The chapter headings run into the word before them and make it feel like parts are missing, but the story is so bizarre that without the book to compare to it's impossible to tell.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I always enjoy Serge's antics. He's insane in a fun way and combines genius with murder.

What does George Wilson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

George Wilson keeps the characters alive. He does remarkably well with such a complex narrative.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

If the chapters didn't run into one another and if I didn't have the sinking suspicion I was missing the last paragraph or so of some of the chapters, I would have no complaints.

Insanity in the Keys

What made the experience of listening to Torpedo Juice the most enjoyable?

The story was set in and around places that I have been to on vacations.

What other book might you compare Torpedo Juice to and why?

Tim Dorsey's books do not compare with any other authors that I have listened to. If I had to pick, I would say Christopher Moore in Lamb, The Stupidest Angel, or the Lust Lizard of Meloncholy Cove. The comparisons are mainly because of the off beat sense of humor.

Which scene was your favorite?

Coleman in the No Name Pub taking dollar bills from the wall.

If you could rename Torpedo Juice, what would you call it?

No Name Insanity.

Any additional comments?

Pretty good story in retrospect because you don't find out who the bad guy was until the end.
