Amid this mayhem, a presidential hopeful arrives in the Everglades to start his campaign. Needless to say, it does not go as planned. In fact, nothing in this story goes as planned. Just what I needed —-

A silly Lil Abner-style-escape. That is, if Lil Abner lived in So Fla and not in mid century Sunday comics.

Funny and engaging

I saw Dave Barry’s interview on Sunday Morning and figured what the heck “I’ll get this audio book” and I’m glad I did. It kept my attention and gave me a few chuckles on the way to and from work.

Hilarious and great story

This book was hilarious. Light and well written as always. Loved that Dave read the book too!

slow start. happy i continued

loved it after first few chapters. definitly a slow starter, but an imteresting read. not a credit type of book but still a good one

I got to see Dave read a bit in person and he was hilarious. The performance didn't carry over into the book performance which was a bummer, but I love hearing an author read their own work.

And I swear I'm not making this up!

Entertaining & Character Rich

Fun Florida tale for those who love reality based humor stories. Interesting cast of characters who collide in the end with love, craziness and wild abandon, Dave Barry does a fine job narrating!

Story was funny and engaging. Characters were a hoot. Don’t generally listen to these types of stories, so I decided to give it a try and was pleased that I did. melon is spelled with one l.
