Red Stevens has died, and the older members of his family receive their millions with greedy anticipation. But a different fate awaits young Jason, whom Stevens, his great-uncle, believes may be the last vestige of hope in the family. "Although to date your life seems to be a sorry excuse for anything I would call promising, there does seem to be a spark of something in you that I hope we can fan into a flame. For that reason, I am not making you an instant millionaire."
What Stevens does give Jason leads to The Ultimate Gift. Young and old will take this timeless tale to heart.

I can't wait to pass this book along to my son for his 10th birthday. I hope he gets as much out of it as I did. Tom Bosley did a fantastic job. His familiar voice really helped bring you into the story like you were family.
The story was informative, inspiring and interesting. It would be a good (in chapters) youth class presentation. The narrator was perfect.
I'm happily married 28 years with 4 children and 1 grandson. I have been so blessed with Audible. Who needs a TV <grinning>
The point was meaningful. I recommend this to anyone who is trying to find where they fit in. Very good!
The section that described the "Golden List." Something so easy to do, yet easy to not do. We make grocery lists, to-do lists, Christmas lists, etc. Yet, we rarely put together as daily list of what we're grateful for.
The scene with the elderly gentleman who just buried his wife of 60 years. My life flashed forward so quickly when I thought of my wife and how fast it will go by. I needed the reminder to daily create a special life for not only me, but wife, daughter and so many others. To look back on a live lived with no regrets is a life well-lived.
I haven't read the print version, but I liked it better than the movie.
I loved the scene in the lawyer's office when the will was originally read for the whole family.
I loved all the lessons in this book. I'd like to get the print version to keep as a reminder.
I love to read! I love reading even more now with my Audible account. I probably read two to three books a month. And, yes, I have a life!
I saw the movie and wanted to know more about the relationship between Jason and the mom. What a sweet story. I walked about from this little two hour book totally affected.
Great message that we all need to be reminded of frequently. Cleverly written story and the narrator did a great job. I will probably listen to this one every few years just to keep me mindful of what is really important in this life. Take the time to listen - it's a short story, but a very important one.
"Buy It !"
I bought this book (the hard copy) many many years ago, and I have read it many times, I've lent it out many times, and I have to say it has had some profound effects.
I highly recommend you listen to it, its wonderful.
