Slow build up, but like any climax ... amazing.

Great book but very slow up front. Miles and Henrietta come in half way and the story picks up from there. Eloise and Colin's story is awesome throughout. Robert is a good character and very human.

Changed direction and reader mid-series - bad move

The series veers onto a different tangent, which is disconcerting enough without changing readers, but losing Kate Reading is a serious loss.

Suffered from a different reader.

I guess this book answers my question about just how much readers affect the experience of a book. Eyre isn't the worst reader (to me, that is Anne Flosnik who overacts throughout every books she reads) but Eyre isn't Kate Reading and the book suffers from it. Willig utilizes character interaction and comic timing in her books to enliven the storyline and a poor reader just can't move it along properly.

Great book...missed Kate Reading

I really like that the entire series was read by one person, except for this book. El-woz was distracting and I didn't catch that she was talking about the main modern day character. I do like the freshness and different-ness, but some things are very distracting.

A poor narration

In a book with a handful of nationalities represented by the characters, not a single accent is convincingly. Even the English accents sound muddled. And "Elo-woz" instead of "Eloise?" Wow. Shame on the producer/director for allowing their narrator to ruin what would otherwise be at least average Brain Candy reading.

Terrible narrator

Good novel but absolutely intolerable narrator. Fake English accent, mispronunciations in almost every chapter - a penance to listen to.

Bring back Kate Reading

Up to now I have loved listening to all of Lauren Willig's books, all of which featured Kate Reading as the narrator. Kate was great. She was able to make each character's voice so distinctive that it was easy to follow the plot and who was speaking. Unfortunately this narrator has a small range of female voices and is not really able to do male voices, and for me, it ruins the book. I hope that Kate Reading will be back with the next book.

Can we please get a redo with Kate Reading?

What would have made The Temptation of the Night Jasmine better?

A different narrator.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Temptation of the Night Jasmine?

The rooftop scene.

What didn’t you like about Justine Eyre’s performance?

Her pronunciation of Eloise. Her British accent. Her stilted performance. It's obvious I'm not a fan of hers. With other books she has narrated, I could disguise her voice by listening at 1.25 speed, but even that didn't work here. Seriously, I have passed on more than one HR simply because she is the narrator.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment, certainly. I love this series! I love the characters! Sadness; because every time I go through the series, I struggle to even finish listening to this one. In fact, this time I've just skipped it; which makes me ANGRY, because it's such a lovely, romantic story! I can't say this book ruins the series, but it is very frustrating because it is integral to the series.

Any additional comments?

Kate Reading is probably my favorite narrator. She reads the other books in this series, and her accents are so good with both the modern parts, and the historical ones. I just wish it was possible to have a redo.

Please record again with Kate Reading!

The narrator is horrible for this book. She can't even decide how she wants to pronounce the main character's name! Story wise it's a good one, but the continuity of the series was ruined by the change in narrator.

didn't care for narrator

struggled to listen to this all the way through. I love these books but having one book that that's a different author from the rest kind of ruined it. it took me almost six months to finally to try to listen to this because you fall in love with the other narrator. I've listened to other books shes narrated and liked them, but I don't care for her portrayal of characters in this book at all. I hope you'll re record it with the other narrator to match all the rest of the titles.
