Darryl's new to the Jamaica, Queens building, but from day one he's made quite an impression on his neighbors. He has made it very clear he greatly values his privacy, but he is the man every woman wants and every man wants to be, so inquiring minds want to know. Darryl is quickly welcomed into the building and immediately becomes a part of each of the tenants' lives. Connie, an overweight and unhappy wife, turns to Darryl for help losing weight, hoping to try and fix her crumbling marriage. But when Darryl starts making Connie feel beautiful again, she questions whether or not her marriage is worth saving. Benny, a spoiled teenager, looks up to Darryl as a role model. When an unexpected event occurs, Benny is left questioning everything he's ever known. Krystal, Darryl's first love, wants to make things work with her current boyfriend. "A Really Good Read!"

At first it was moving kind of slow to me, but as I kept listening I became more intrigued. Good story overall. This was my second book by the author and I am now a fan!

What made the experience of listening to The Man in 3B the most enjoyable?

The author did a good job in developing the characters and the narrarators did a great job in briging them to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Connie was my favorite character because she was the most genuine.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hearing the voices of the characters, for me, brings a depth. I could get a better image of them by the sound of their voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

You never know what really goes on... Behind Closed Doors.

    Any additional comments?

When I first started listening to this book I thought it was going to be cartoonish and predictable with shallow characters who I would hate. But when I kept listening and the main characters were brought to life, I began to thoroughly enjoy it and found it hard to cut it off. Although I did predict what happened, I was not mad because I enjoyed listening to how everything unfolded.

I'm glad I've gotten into Carl Weber. He is imaginative and I always enjoy his twists. He is one of my favorites and I look forward to catching up on books I have not read by him as well as his future projects.

What made the experience of listening to The Man in 3B the most enjoyable?

The characters were all the way live. Darryl was sexy and smooth. Everyone wanted some of him. The thrills and mystery kept me listening longer than planned.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Man in 3B?

When Avery told Connie, I want a divorce. Bennie trying to push up on Darryl. Slutty Crystal getting caught by Slim in front of Darryl door. Priceless

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

Everything, their voices were suited to the age and character as I would picture them to be.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YESSSSS

    Any additional comments?

This must have a sequel. I think Connie killed Avery's first wife. I think there should be a sighting of Darryl. And Slim should a have a larger part in some criminal way. And I want more of Ben!

    "THE BOMB!"

Carl Weber did it again! He is the KING of spinster, that man sure knows how to spin a story. This is a murder mystery, just when you might think you know who the killer is, NOPE! It takes another turn, the book is filled with good humor and real life issues. The ladies who sit on the stoop of the building reminds you of 227. Without giving anything away here are the characters: Nancy who is in a marriage that is over, but stays for the sake of her children is having affair with Ben Sr. the fireman, who is not only doing Nancy but a couple of the other ladies iin the building. Connie: who is married to Avery who is down and out because he lost his six figure job and is now working in a furniture story is turned off by Connie's weight gain, she tries to keep her marriage together, but Avery is determine to leave, Avery: runs into a guy named Kane who teaches him how to be happy, the motto is live like you are dying and that is exactly what he does. Then you have Crystal who is coke head and has a history with the man in 3B which the story revolves around Darryl Graham. Ben Jr. who develops a friendshiip with Darryl. His father becomes a little jealous. My only complaint is, you never really get to know Darryl I felt by the end of the story we should have known something of his background. The author keeps his dealing and his history a mystery. I am hoping he does another book telling us the story of Darryl Graham, but with that said, you will have a blast reading this book!

Where does The Man in 3B rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I loved this book, from the first 30 minutes i was hooked. It is a feel good book.. Im so tired of reading books about gangs, drugs and fashion. This was a great distraction from that.

"Good Production on Man in 3B"
What did you love best about The Man in 3B?

The ending. I hoped he didn't die in the fire and I was glad he didn't!

What did you like best about this story?

All the characters. The ensemble of different diverse personality that made up one apartment was very realistic.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The depth of their voices and their ability to bring all the characters alive. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was not able to stop listening to the book until it was over. I had to know what was going to happening. I was compelled from the very beginning.

    Any additional comments?

    Very good production once again!
