I thought I'd try this book because some reviewers compared the author to Louis L'amour, and one of my guilty pleasures is to sit down with one of those old good guy, bad guy western novels and get away from reality. But no L'amour book that I ever read was ever even close to being this bad. I understand that this is just a "western" novel, but you like to see a little attention to detail, minimizing historical inaccuracies and containing a minimum of just plain silliness and implausibility. But you won’t get that here. The characters, the situations, are annoying and just plain just horrible. One of the few books I have had that I simply could not finish.
I had no problem with the performance just the content of the book.
Top Notch !!! Love Johnstones Smoke Jenson I could own all of them in hard copy in a heart beat if they were available.
The heart felt love Smoke has for Sally and the urgency in which he responds when she's hurt.
He's one hell of a narrator wish he was on all my books.
Need another thousand to read ! Best get to writing lol
