Publisher's summary

"My darling Cecilia, if you’re reading this, then I’ve died...."

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret - something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive....

Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all - she's an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia - or each other - but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.

Acclaimed author Liane Moriarty has written a gripping, thought-provoking novel about how well it is really possible to know our spouses - and, ultimately, ourselves.

entertaining yet philosophical

it's an interesting story which entertains and provokes some thoughts, but it may be a bit too long in its final stage. nonetheless, it still kept me going. The narrator is fantastic, as she was in Little Big Lies, and I choose this book by ms Moriarty due to her performance (instead of another book by the author by with a different narrator).

LOVED it!

What did you love best about The Husband's Secret?

Liane Moriarty always delivers. It's not just the secret, which is unexpected, but what comes after. Loved the way she treated the issues that it unraveled.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's so hard to choose... I think what I like best is the way Moriarty looks at one event through different people.

What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The Australian accent reminded me that the story was set in Austrialia, with the little details that make the setting of a story special and unique.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The price of curiosity

Any additional comments?

Highly recommended.

Very Good story and narrator

The characters are nicely developed and the narrator is the icing on the cake. The combination of her voice and accent is what does it for me.

Twist and Turns

I didn't start getting into the book until chapter 9. The story hops back and forth between different families. I will say I'm glad I kept on reading because it had many shocking moments that kept me captivated. Many Twist and Turns! Good read!

If you're married with children, you might get it

Not so interesting if you're young, single, and don't care about a lot of talk of Tupperware and kid's party planning filling out the actual story arc.

Love the characters

this is the second book I've read by this author. I love the character development and the way the characters are all entwined. I enjoyed the epilogue for wrapping up the questions you didn't even know were unanswered.

The performance was exceptional. It was very easy to recognize each character.

Brilliant

Wonderful story line and ending. The epilog was a jaw dropper. I highly recommend it.
