Publisher's summary

"My darling Cecilia, if you’re reading this, then I’ve died...."

Imagine that your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret - something with the potential to destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others as well. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive....

Cecilia Fitzpatrick has achieved it all - she's an incredibly successful businesswoman, a pillar of her small community, and a devoted wife and mother. Her life is as orderly and spotless as her home. But that letter is about to change everything, and not just for her: Rachel and Tess barely know Cecilia - or each other - but they too are about to feel the earth-shattering repercussions of her husband’s secret.

Acclaimed author Liane Moriarty has written a gripping, thought-provoking novel about how well it is really possible to know our spouses - and, ultimately, ourselves.

Loved It!

I spend about 2 hours in the car commuting everyday, and I've recently decided to embrace the 'me time' and listen to audio books. I stumbled upon Liane's Big Little Lies and I've never looked back. I'm not looking forward to the day that I've finished all of her works.
This book is wonderful! The characters are vivid, likable, and relatable. The story lines are captivating. I enjoyed every minute and I've been raving about this one to all of my friends. You won't be disappointed!

It was okay

I completed this book for an upcoming book club meeting only to realize I had already started over a year ago and was halfway through. Obviously it wasn't memorable. But I finished it the second time around and it did bring into question various 'what would you do?' Scenarios. Not something I would recommend to my friends.

Excellently written, excellently read

I love Caroline Lee as a narrator. And I love liane moriarty as an author and I think they both outdid themselves on this one. The story was excellently spun. I love watching all the threads of Moriarty’s stories, delicate and intricately woven and all coming together as the story closes. While the surprises were foreshadowed, that didn’t make them any less poignant or wonderful. And Caroline Lee is excellent. I love hearing her voice. It’s both captivating and soothing. I feel like a good friend is telling me a story. Or that I’m there in the middle of her
story.

Much to follow, but really good

This is a very busy story, with several characters and situations to try to keep straight. It is a good story, though, with secrets and surprises throughout. It all comes together in the end. Excellent narration.

Captivating from beginning to end

Not only a great piece of fiction, The Husband's Secret is an essay on the effect secrets have on relationships, life in general and the well being of the soul. Even in the epilogue you see how personal choices can change the future of a whole community. Well done!
