Amazing narrator completes Sherlock Holmes
I do love Sherlock Holmes, and this was my first time reading the complete works. The stories are - naturally - very good. But the narrator in this book is absolutely amazing. Highly recommended!!

Execellent stories, read by an exceptional voice.
I loved these stories! It felt like listening to them allowed for me to think more logically and clearly. Simon Vance gave every character in this series a unique tone and personality - I am very dissapointed that I have not come across one of his performances before. Thank you, Mr. Vance!

Enjoyable, yet outdated
What a nice tome to peruse. I picked this up merely because of a strange sense of duty, duty to the "classics." I was not enthralled completely by the stories but they did hold my attention and were pleasant to unfold. Now, as with any work of a certain age, there are archaic notions of gender, race, and thighs of the like. This did not detract greatly but is merely a point of note. This piece stands as a recommended read none-the-less, I would like to again someday and count the times the word "singular" appears in any form. It seems to lurk on every page!

Enjoyable collection
I enjoyed it. The writing style is a bit dated as well as some of the "science" and attitudes but these stories hold up very well considering when they were written. I did find it interesting that while Holmes solved the cases he didn't always make sure the guilty were punished. If he felt the people were justified in their actions he would not let the police know the facts. I guess I did not realize that before reading this collection. Some of these stories were new to me and some I had read before but it was nice to have them all. Simon Vance was masterful in his narration.
